The Giants may have been depleted somewhat but they still have a very strong squad even with players out or backing up and you have to work hard to win any SL game. Can't comment as I wasn't there but we must have really held our nerve in dour conditions.

All in perspective, that's a great week for the club.

Well played Wakey, thought you played the conditions better than us, and I'm still not dried out yet!

It wasn't that bad, we looked after the ball considerably well. I think one of the reasons Shudds had to play out of their own 40 for the entire match is the fact Kear had Higgins, Amor, Hickey and Korki running slight angles at one defender (instead of immediate gaps) consistently and good yards were being made in the collision. We managed to get 4 tacklers to the likes of Crabtree time and time again.
Only weak link today for me was Morton. He clearly gave 110% but should have taken his chance early in the 2nd and it was lucky Shudds got pulled back for a forward pass as he wasn't going to catch the free attacker. He isn't big enough, fast enough or strong enough for SL (yet!) We are just fortunate Shudds didn't start playing with width until the 75th minute.
One good thing is he came in for work 3 or 4 times and held onto the ball after some real rough facials.
Shudds were penalised for 5 high tackles in the game and no yellow was shown, is that proper procedure?

so you dont think that he was caught out, putting in poor kicks under pressure as a result of him not being stood deep enough. . . . . . on top of the huddersfield players being onside/square being questionable...

i think you need to take off your red/ white and blue glasses and see things more clearly instead of assuming that because we won, there is no room for improvement and nothing went wrong. get real

Cant wait for Hickey to get fit. He looked as though he'll really take some stopping although his biggest hit was on Amor.

Only just dried out, but don't care, It will be nice going to work in the morning in Huddersfield without getting stick for losing. If Moore carries on improving he is going to be awsome.

Awful game in awful conditions...the only difference was the fact you held the ball a bit more than us and deserved the win.....nice to meet and chat to a couple of you off here even though i've forgot your names already

Can you not see that giants were clearly told not to give hime time on the ball and were offside on many occassions especially kirkmond who had been given the specific job. Also look at where some of the passes especially from wildie as there were some poor ones as well.

Absolute rubbish if anything he was stood to deep as some of the passes he received were awful and bounced before they reached him. Had he stood any deeper he'd have never got the ball.

thought all 3 tony, moore and smith played really well. smiths experience showed in the second half. seemed to take more of the kicking game on and was organizing the forwards, talking all the time. gareth will get better in time once he gains experience he will be a stand out half back. tony went well and seems to give us a bit extra at full back. george was emmense. mom for me. i would have to give a big shout to the forwards. went toe to toe all day with a pack that is used to bullying teams and imo they came off second best today. fantastic effort from all the lads

For heavens sake give him a chance, it's a big step up. He did well for his second SL game. Same happened to Luke Robinson, perhaps more to do with the lax implimentation of the offside rule
