I agree with you on this. I thought he played ok today until his injury.

His defence is sound too. Missed a few last week but very out of character

Eric, i think your way off the mark with Howarth. Today he was injured after 5 minutes which caused him to make some uncharacteristic errors.

If you watch alot of our tries down the right hand side they come through Howarth's passing. His timing and pass selection is superb. The lad is very intelligent and reads the game well and generally is always supporting the ball carrier.

Know matter who or where we play, every side know matter which way they go create an overlap I see it every game don`t we ever watch video`s

while we was poor on the field and in attendance I can say that it didn't feel poor for the response while walking around with the painting of Leon,

What we have is a team of triers without much in the way of skill. But you don't have to be the best players in the league to play with structure and this is where we are lacking. We look like like rabbits in the headlights once we get into an attacking position and this for me comes down to coaching rather than anything else. We could be making more of what we have. Basics like supporting the man with the ball, keeping a disciplined defensive line, inventive set moves etc don't need top players, they just need the correct systems putting in place. It doesn't seem to be happening.

That said we need to find a kicking game from somewhere and for me Moore has to come into scrum half and Lee either moved to hooker or be removed altogether if Davey is felt to be a better option. We need to play players in their natural positions and let them try and put their stamp on the game from which they feel truely comfortable. Wildie looked promising today in the halves, so let him and Moore play alongside each other and get an understanding going. I can't knock the lads effort but I think we aren't neccessarily making the best of what we have at our disposal.

i agree. at the game today talking to people before the kick off, we felt that moore should be in, especially given the lack of options from the bench.

on a side note, if messers smith and tony cant get into what looked a very weak team its probably time they were shown the door.

no complaints today , the ref was awful but we were handed a lesson in rugby league.

thought kear was quick to put the blame on the perforfance rather than look at the tactical inadequacies on display.

Agree 100%. It appears all we do in training is practice one man rugby. I also think we need to look at the conditioning of the players as they looked knackered after 15 mins.

Basics again let us down. These skills don't require you to be a top quality player to execute them so no excuses. The coaching staff need to earn their money.

Strange team selection as well from Kear. I presume King was carrying an injury otherwsie he should have definitely played. And as others have said, Moore should have been given an opportunity with the lack of pivots.

As for the ref well the least said the better. He makes Ashley Clown and Karl Kirkpatrick look competent.

catalans are bigger and better.... however, i do feel the referee failing to take any action against the persistant foul play, high shots and fighting had a part to play too. i dont think we would have won.. but it would have made it a bit closer and more even playing field.

hickey to play with johnson dropped down to second row. moore and wildie to play 6 and 7 with rinaldi and davey hooking next week. give tommy lee a week or two in reserves.

Have you seen the size of Hickey ? he is in no shape to be thrown straight in he wont last 5 minutes. I think it might be a few weeks until he is seen in the first team. As for Moore he must be in next week !

Lots of well qualified coaches on this site again I see; funny how when the team wins the coach is great but when they loose he is e!

Get real any team can not be at its best every week and give credit to the opposition occasionally.

i'd agree with that .thought the ref just about lost control at some stages of the game. the high shot on korki should have resulted in the guy getting 10 mins, instead another 3 high tackles later he was still warning them. thought we seemed very flat today. we lacked in support play. there seemed to be no runners. taking the ball stood still most of the time. hopefully we can pick it up at salford next week

Going off topic slightly , but the ref today lost all control of the game from 1/2 way through the 1st half. In my opinion he could have given Morrison 10mins also 10 mins to their 2nd rower & he could have had Ferriol sent off & later on Baille sent off for persistent head shots , I`m sure he used Smurfs bandage as a target. ( Smurfs tackling especially in the 1st half kept us in the game on his own )

I'm struggling to see what everyone else seems to see in Howarth. I just can't see what he offers us at all. I haven't come away from one game this season and seen anything from him that has stood out.

I agree that the ref was shocking today, but I thought he was poor for bith sides. We were offside an awful lot today and got away with it. The one thing I don't get though is the amount of forward passes each week. When is someone going to start taking action against this?

4500 was admirable considering it was a bank holiday weekend and Catalans didn't bring any fans at all.

It's already been mentioned but this is the team we have and we have to put up with it for now. Rinaldi was a big miss yesterday, no creativity when we were in good positions. Some very strange decisions on taking penalties, tap when should've kicked etc. Physically we were not at the races.

However, we knew what to expect when we kicked off the season. We've already done better than many expected. We'll lose some more but we will win a few as well.

Let's move on and plan for Friday.

Tired looking performance for me, I think last week took allot out of the tank physically and mentally.
The ref certainly did us no favours, but we didn't do ourselves many favours neither.
I'm getting fed up of listening to the terrace experts spouting off about a 6 or 7, bent on slating what we've got and when questioned unable to suggest any players that would come.
We've got what we've got, get behind them.
The only concern I have is that if JK signed Moore because of his kicking game, then surely it's time he got a chance, because we are desperate for one.
As for hickey, he's weeks away for fitness, so again, we have to go with with what we've got until the big fella is up to it.
Thought korki was excellent.

Can't agree with the criticism of Howarth. Always looks like creating something when he's running down that right hand side. Had Morton managed to reach that grubber, Howarth put through, just before half time we would have gone in 16-20.
Can agree that Lee gave one of the worst exhibitions of a kicking game I ever seen in a game today though.
We were flattered by the scoreline in the end.
