I am astonished by that part of your post.

It's bought a year's worth of SKY money which, if you spend wisely, can net you a profit at the end of the season.

I knew one of the sponsors a couple of years back not big but they didn't look after what they was sold to them and he took them to court or threaten action for for breach of contract.

he knew I was a loyal supporter as he was but said he wasn't happy with what was happening at the club.

now we have to look to AG to put this right, if management skills and the trust in the staff at Wakefield to put rugby on the table comes good the future will look bright but the reading doesn't look from the past

I think some of the posters on here are being a touch naive to say the least. Certainly this almost child like belief that Andrew Glover is the messiah. Let's get something straight, when one business offers another a line of credit it is a risk they take in the full knowledge they may never recover the debt - that folks is business. Although it's sad that people lose out but that's how it goes, it's not exclusive to Wakefield. The fact that we were bought for 35k and the fact that the club IMO owed so little to it's creditors other than HMC suggests the club is a going concern and not the decaying evil empire portrayed on here.

What's done is done, let's just move on and keep an eye on the new lot.

I dont know how you can say its hard luck, when if you take out HMRC & redundancy , its still around half a million, so how is that a little owed to its creditors, including to 2 large bills to clothing companies for over £50k, which I am sure is not a week or two's worth of kits.

Also Mr lets allow businesses to fail without paying debts, how about the over £40k that the solicitors are trying to re-coup from salaries that potentially should not be paid, rather than potentially been taken out of an illiquid company when it should not have been thats further funds that should by law (if is the case)be paid to suppliers!

I actually knew Ted and whilst being a generally nice bloke, he was the new age Robin Hood....take from the rich and keep it himself ! He was also reported to be taking a big chunk in salary which is very rare at any other club as Chairman are basically a kind of figurehead rather than a obsenely well paid member of staff.

There was enough in the business at the time of purchase (SKY money for the season, plus gate receipts, merchandise etc.) to make the investment worthwhile in the short term, providing you budget accordingly. I don't think anyone could claim we've "flashed the cash" since being taken out of administration, so this would back up the argument.

The stuff about lines of credit, though, is nonesense in relation to the total debt. Most of the debts will be for one-off payments, as far as I can see. Yes, you could get a line of credit with your sarnie bill at Subway, but you won't get one with BT.

I was pleased to hear that AG planned to honour certain historical debts, even though he wasn't obliged to do so. I think that speaks well of him, builds bridges with the local community and people who may have lost out in their "lines of credit" under Richardson.

Of course it's too early to judge the man and his achievements, but he should be credited for seeing the little things he can changed quickly and acting on that. The "big picture" is one that no one has thus far been able to deliver. I think he deserves support, though, don't you?

well to be fair, if you look at the redundacy payments, the outstanding salary payment of non retained employees and know what you are talking about..........

I think we need to realise that had AG not come forward we would not now exist at all. That alone is good enough for me. However as fans we have to not be complacent, group together under the banner of the Supporters Trust and help safeguard the past present and future of our club
