We've had to watch the SL bandwagon roll on from the lower divisions for 15 years now down here in the land the RFL forgot. I still have a club. It's doing ok and building slowly from being in administration a few years ago. - Something Wakey may well have to emulate.
I can't believe some are suggesting 'fold the club'!!!! Dear God, what are you going to do next year - abandon your club??
I various futile arguments on various fora re the 'we have more fans than you' cobblers, there is no doubt some fans will stay away and will not want to watch anything other than SL. We at rovers have done exactly that and are now finding ways of attracting the stay-aways back to post office rd.
Wakey should do well to jolly up the fans NOW and prep them so you retain as many as poss for the championship. It's 'different' down here and what you are left with are the die-hards, fruitcakes and straw clutchers watching games - but you know what - it has been a right laugh! It's not like winning at wembley etc - but nonetheless, it's a hoot.
Get your heads round it, prep yourself, and get ready to enjoy rugby outside SL.

I fully agree when/if mr glover takes over he should say we are not applying for a franchise.I know this is a defeatist attitude but we are not going to get a licence and would rather go with a bit of dignity.My personal feeling of the last couple of days is both embarrassment and anger at what is going on.To all trolls,chairman and the rl I hope you are all happt as you are getting what you have wanted all along.But we will be back,someday.

Rubbish. If we have to go lets make it as difficult as possible a decision to make. Top 8 here we come. Kear, the players along with us lot will be 'well ticked off' (mildly put) and with it comes possibly the chance to create a fight back to beat all (including the great escape).

Regardless of whether we think we're going to get a franchise or not we should be applying. The feedback we get from the RFL should form the basis of our next bid. If we need to work on x, y and z, then we've time to address it and put the RFL in a tough spot next time round. The answer shouldn't be to give up but to prove the doubters wrong!

We've been through terrible situations before and always fought back. There is no reason why we can't come back stronger and become a force. We're lucky, we've a backyard full of talent and a community who loves RL, not an artificial one used to appease .....

some of you guys are forgetting that the players are in an uncertain position at the moment, they work for a company in administration with little or no evidence that the new company will honour their terms and conditions etc. If YOU were in the same situation you'd be looking to move on.

What amazes me is the amount of surprise, enough people have been saying this was only a matter of time, there is no conspiracy, just an unfortunate failed business coming to the end of it's life.

Will Wakefield rise from the ashes, I doubt it, once you're in NL1/2 (which you will be if this carries on) then there isn't a way back I am afraid, the club couldn't turn a ptofir from a CC Semi Final appearance and good league finish.

I feel for you, as fans of a club, but I have no sympathy for the club as a business.

Like your sentiment but when you wake up from your lovely dream and reality kicks in you will realise it ain't gonna happen.We are a laughing stock,unfortunately.How will we make it hard,crusaders,quins,catalans all safe no matter what.We are even making cas look like a big club.

I think there is an obligation on all member clubs to re-apply for their license.

Hudds couldnt turn a profit from a CC Final.
Most of the clubs in super league cant turn a profit.

Beat me too it, what is there, 4 clubs or so who turn a profit of some kind, most owe plenty of cash themselves.

I believe only Hull FC and Leeds make a profit.

Pulling us out of super league would be totally wrong. What we need to do is get behind whatever team is left after this 'fire sale' and give belle vue one final glorious season and stick two fingers up to everyone else who thinks we should be in the top tier.

even when cas were relagated they didnt lose hardly any of there fan base, dare say they had more fans watching then we did at the time. id go see wakefield no matter what league there in, and there are no excuses from fans saying where not going because richardson is in charge. well the little turd has gone now so every true trin fan needs to get behind this once great club.

i think your right there, popped down with a fev fan when you played leigh midweek, there was more entertainment that night than watching us in 10 games. it was ok when we first went into sl, a laugh now its a borefest. i remember going to huyton and donny years back when they never won a game for ages. that was a laugh.

sl will eventually shoot itself in the foot and come back for fev and wakey and fax. might take a while but it will happen.

Don't listen to this, we were told this for years in our dark days, there looked like there was no light at the end of the tunnel but we steadily got our act together and came out of the other side stronger for it. As the Fev fan said earlier its different in the NL's but ti doesn;t make it any less enjoyable in some ways it bonds the team and the fans and as I say WHEN you rise up again it makes one hell of a journey.

I really feel for you guys but stick this year out, sing loud regardless of results and circumstance and maybe you'll shock a few along the way. Hopefully you'll be back sooner rather than later.

Don't be daft my local football team has recently run out of money and not paying the players for the rest of the season. The local support has be amazing and determined not to let the club die. Wakey are in SL on merit, have a proud history and must never give up. I thought you lot were from Yorkshire and they never give up a fight.

How do you know what the criteria will be in future years?
How do you know Wakefield wont meet it?
What relevance is not making a profit now in a dilapidated stadium and having a cc semi final spot,when teams in modern stadia cant turn a profit after a cc final spot?

When posted the topic yesterday it was obviously an emotional knee jerk reaction to all that has gone on recently, you could say the straw that broke the camels back.

I'm proud of the clubs heritage and I'd like to see us fight to the end and YES I will be at every game to support whats left to pull on the shirt. But as I said I dread to think what it's going to do to the young players we'll be left with.

All I hope for is AG can sort out the mess and get some players in by whatever means.
