| We haven't had 50% of the cash if what the clubs say is to be believed. I am also sure that it was a condition of the deal that we did not have to move until the new ground was sorted

This is it.
22. The development shall not commence until a replacement playing field facility of equivalent or better quality and subject to equivalent or better management arrangements has been provided in a location to be approved in writing by the Local Planning Authority and in consultation with Sport England.
To secure a replacement facility in accordance with Unitary Development Plan policy L3.
You may have to sell the ground to Cala but until the above is provided they may let you rent it back.

I bet that would be Cala's dream outcome. They probably don't want to build on it yet anyway, so if they could offset some of the cash owed to us against rent, it would be ideal for them

| Quote ="inside man"But if we go into admin then surely Newmarket will not happen?'"
Newmarket Community Stadium will happen if people continue to work towards making it happen. The club have confirmed that a move to the proposed Newmarket Community Stadium is commercial viable as a NL1 side not just SL and Yorkcourt are committed to the deal either way. The stadium will be SL compliant, so if the worst happens then I suspect a return to SL for Wakefield would be very possible in three years.
As for the Newmarket development happening then it is highly likely that warehousing and distribution units will be built on at least a minimum of 33ha of the site as it will be taken out of Green-belt by a target date of March 2012.
The support for Newmarket is vital for the community sport facilities, jobs and as a new home for professional sport in the city of Wakefield. People need to understand that Newmarket will continue with or without Wakefield Trinity and there current financial problems and the stadium will be available for whomever wishes to use it in the future irrespective. If that is the current Wakefield Trinity Wildcats or a 'new' Wakefield Trinity Wildcats or even a football or Rugby Union team, it will be there if we fight for it!

| I think this whole scenario we find ourselves in is a complete and utter disgrace. We're the laughing stock yet again.
Many of us have guessed for quite some time now that things were not all they appeared to be within the club. Whether the club have lied or have tried in their wisdom to shield and protect the fans is unknown but one thing is very clear. The so called professionals we have entrusted to run our club have not done so and they should be accountable for their actions.
Also, it is one thing asking for investment and money, but doesn't the club feel the fans and people of Wakefield have a right to know exactly what the hell is going on?
Surely investors also want to know what they are investing in, where that money will go and how the club will be run and managed through this difficult time
I read yesterday on sky text that the club are in a very serious position and the RFL have known about this for some time. OK so
1 - Why won't the club come clean and tell the fans and people of Wakefield EXACTLY the state/position we are in with real, true facts?
2 - If the RFL have known for months then why are they not doing anything about this situation? Seem all too happy to run to the rescue of London and Crusaders but not a team with tradition and history in the game. Bloody disgrace!
This whole situation sickens me to the core. There's no information, no hard facts and the demand now seems extremely last resort which I am sure it is.
Dark dark days ahead I and really am very concerned for our existance, never mind our future.
Do I have the money to buy a share? - NO
If I had the money would I buy a share? - Not without many detailed answers and hard facts given to me by the club first.....

By refusing to loan them a penny even with an offer of security on Newmarket. However, the RFL are happy to give £750k with no security whatsoever to a small club in Wrexham and 10 years to pay it back! Thanks RFL your the best.... and only governing body we have... unfortunately!

How can you give security on Newmarket when at present there isnt even outline PP for the area, They dont call PI for nothing , the costs are horrendous and the outcome is not cut and dried, you keep saying newmarket will happen, it was said that it wouldnt go to a PI and look whats happened,, I agree though it seems one law for one and not the other, but without knowing the actual facts drawing assumptions is a waste of time

To be fair speedy they offered it but you are correct, there was no 100% promise and if it fails then the money would be a debt owed. However, Crusaders got twice the money Wakefield wanted with two wealthy backers and not one bit of security and 10 years to pay!
You are right about it not been cut and dried and I didn't say it would NOT go to a PI, I said I thought it wouldn't and I am still surprised... but I was wrong. I am not saying Newmarket in it's current form will happen either, what I am saying it is highly likely they will build warehouses on 33ha (minimum) on Newmarket in the immediate future regardless... look at the draft site specific LDF... tells you everything you need to know!

| You all keep comparing the RFL's stance on your club with Quins and Crusaders. Both those clubs groundhsare with other sports and maybe the RFL were and always have been trying to get yourselves and Cas to ground share. Lowering the costs for both clubs does appear to have sound business sense.
So many other SL clubs groundshare, Leeds, Wigan, Huddersfield, HullFC. as well as Cru and Quins.
It may well be that you will be offered a chance to play your games at Cas's new place providing that is built.
Best of luck with your endeavours and I hope you survive in SL and start to thrive in the future.

But by that logic as Wakefield are already planning a move to a shared stadium until Newmarket is built, then a franchise would be certain as well you would think!
PS. Not having a go at you personally mate, but you can see the issues, they are proposing to be almost exactly like Quins and Crusaders!

As things stand, the contract for the sale of the land is complete and SOME of the money due to the club has been paid. Other payments are due at various stages based on the terms of the contract and until all the money is paid we can stay at BV effectively rent-free, although we still have to maintain the ground as necessary & at our expense to keep it operational.
The ideal scenario for Cala is for us to stay at BV for as long as possible to ensure that they dont have to pay out the next lot of money - which would probably be enough to keep us going now.
Either way, staying at BV any longer than absolutely necessary would just cause the financial problems to increase rather than decrease.

Wow. The figure has raised by £50k and still no source for either the figure or the claim that it was a loan.
btw, as I understand it, Newmarket, if it happens - and the scheme of which it's a part of doesn't yet have even outline planning permission - will be owned by a third party, with Trinity as tenants. What exactly would Trinity offer as security for a loan? Their tenancy? Clearly not the stadium itself as it belongs to someone else – it would be like me offering a house I rent, which belongs to someone else, as security for a mortgage. I'd get laughed out.
bbtw, I hope Newmarket does happen. And that WTWRLFC are the anchor tenants of a community stadium.

?
Think about that for a minute: in 2008 Richard Lewis said that Wigan (never mind Hull FC, Harlequins etc) should move out of their current ground and build a new dedicated stadium just for rugby league, or lose their franchise, all within three years?

Please come along to the Public Meeting for local residents at Stanley Rangers next Tuesday evening if you possibly can ... and bring or tell others about it? We need as many people there as possible to show their support.
