I don't think his attitude will be a problem as others have alluded to. I spoke to a Harlequins player last year who spoke very highly of him.

Saying that his attitude was brilliant and that he was a nice lad to have around the dressing room.

tbh, not a fan at all, however he is now our player whether i like it or not.

positives - speed, try scoring ability

negatives - dodgy in defense (but is he any worse than last years wingers?), prone to errors (so are other players, but this can improve with the right coaching...???), temprament (my biggest issue with him), will not get the ball (again a major issue with all trinity wingers - coaching??)

so overall, my view even though i do not like him, is that he is better than last years wingers and he also gives us something we havn't had for a while - pace.

split loyalties for me, but i have decided that i will give him a chance, but will never have his name on my shirt.

i think that is fair.

to anyone who is not willing to give him a chance - will they be cheering if he goes the length of the field to score a try???

Best finisher in superleague by a mile. If you put Kevin Penny tries in that video sharing website you'll see what I mean. I have seen him score tries that no other winger in superleague is capable of scoring. He does struggle in defence but sometimes that's because he's over eager. I hope he play's on the left for you as it's more natural to him. I also think he will be a great marketing tool for the team, he's a player the youngesters cna relate to and was very popular at warrington. Great signing and a great lad as well.

Handling skills are very poor, he never learnt to run behind the play and i think some of you will be shocked by how much of that pace he has lost. I seem to recall him coming in around 7th at this years floodlit's fastest man competition. Shame for the lad, too much time spent with Paul Cullen has ruined anything he had.

He can have my support and starts with a clean sheet.

It's not too important really, he's a close friend so I'm pretty sure it was reliable.

He did mention that he was expecting him to be cocky and full of himself but he was quite the opposite.

I suppose as the old saying goes 'never judge a book by its cover'.

Widnes had Penny on loan last year. Different standard obviously so won't comment on his effectiveness, but his effort and enthusiasm were outstanding. Give the lad a chance.

and thats my perfect example if Penny had defended like that there would be 10 pages on the saints forum and twenty on the wires one.....but the big fat effort in pigtails gets away with every time.

Again Cudjoe... last week was the dogs nuts but he quite clearly has handling issues and got nowhere near a kick last night...cost them a try, but quickly swept over by the muppets on sky.....incidentally the pigtailed one was actually that frightened of a high ball that he made no attempt to catch it...

Best signing so far for me would have him instead of blanch anyday it was only 2 years ago he was the next best thing since slice bread. Great signing.

Just like what other teams did to Blanch last season. Atleast Penny has the pace to get across when their wingers get on the outside, Blanch wasn't quick enough to close the space.

I think KP is a gamble but one worth taking and at last we have some actual pace in our back line. Just hope we use it.....

while we know that he will be targeted by other teams we will have to compensate in other ways,
his speed has to be used to the max to get the best out of him or he is going to be another wasted signing,
my concern is that he doesn't jump out of position thinking he can intercept every ball or to tackle the leaving the wing open,
while he might not bring in the crowd name wise I'm sure he won't let the side down in effort
