Definately the HMRC (taxman). Looks like we once again have got into trouble with the tax bill(s). No wonder we are looking for new investment. Doesn't look good for the franchise application even if we manage to pay!!

Club statement?

We could do with an official statement to stop rumours and to know the true facts.

They have certainly kept this one quiet as it appears to have been around since the end of July. Were the club hoping to pay before anything became public or hope no-one would notice?

Everything around the club seems so shambolic these days! Right from out on the pitch to failing to pay the taxman. The HMRC is taking no prisoners these days and I fear they are looking to make an example of a sporting team after losing so much when football clubs go into administration.

I really fear for the future of the club unless something major happens very soon.

Standard procedure from the tax man. If you don't pay your tax bill by the required date he seeks a winding up order.

I understand we have some cash coming in which will pay off the tax man (and more) but its an issue of timing. We will not have the cash before the petition is heard and its a matter of whether the taxman will give an extension on the time to pay - if he does we are okay - if not we have a problem.

If there are any investors interested in "buying" the Club from Ted don't hang back guys, the Club needs you now.

The facts seem quite clear...we are facing a winding up order from the taxman. If that goes through we can forget SL in 2012 (or 2011 for that matter).

Cheers, Sandal Cat; very sensical. We know no details and the taxman is just following procedure. If the Club are up front and honest about the issue and explain how they will be getting the funds together, there shouldn't be a problem.

Last year might point towards financial instability, but at the same time we can assume that the Club were open and communicative with the taxman and the issue was sorted. The channels of communication have been opened and they're aware of the Club's plight. If the Club go cap in hand and tell them when the money will be ready, we'll be fine.

Heard about this earlier this week. I imagine it will require another player(s) sale. Probably Murphy.

What a bloody shambles; we lurch from one crisis to another, with occasional respite in the form of nonsense rumours about half decent players or wealthy new owners.

Supporting this club is like being in an abusive relationship.

So should the club pay a tax bill it disputes? They are holding firm. The taxman is playing hardball. They'll no doubt sort it out.

No doubt they will, by flogging off one of the few shining lights of this season to another club; so long Smurph, thanks for everything.

I think there would only be one winner in that stalemate.

For it to get to this stage there is no dispute the club owe the Tax Man. It's down to now what the HMR will accept. So they will get a Jnr Barrister to negotiate in court a repayment schedule for about £300 per hr or spend Tens of thousands in fees taking on the taxman. Option one me thinks !!

technically speaking you cant get a winner in a stalemate.

I think after this week with people getting letters that they owe more tax because of a mistake,I suppose it could be the same for the club also.

oh dear, dont like the look of this one little bit, winding up orders are not filed over 50p.

Let us hope people from Franchising panel read this, I am sure they will love it!

Which would fit with the club's timeframes, I imagine.

I don't really buy that the club is being run badly. From the outside looking in, which is the only view I have, we put out a half-decent mid-table side on a shoestring, with a less than impressive attendance average, and so we are always bound to come up to the occasional rock in the water. And like always, we will no doubt steer around it.

People demand decent signings, and then moan when there isn't much money left in the coffers to pay an unexpectedly high tax bill (which appears to be the club's view of it). You can't have it both ways.

And as for Kirmond being released, why keep him for a dead rubber of a game when everyone is screaming for the kids to be given a chance.

There are things I would like to be better, like a more aggressive marketing approach, and a reliable online ticket and webstore (my experience with online tickets has been mixed, and so I haven't dipped my toe into the online shop, and so I might be doing it a disservice), but on the whole, I think we do all right with the albatross that is Belle Vue around our necks.
