Quote ="TURFEDOUT"Yet the people that dont want Kear to be replaced seem to have no substance for their logic in wanting him to stay.
Its the same story:
He saved us from relegation..'"
For me that has never been a reason for keeping Kear you cannot live on past glories for ever that said he did also take us to 9th, I think, and then 5th last season so these achievements combined for me gives him some breathing space.
Quote ="TURFEDOUT"Theres no one better for the same money.'"
The logic in this is that it's taken 11 years to find someone who has taken us above 11th for more than just 1 season. I'm not saying there isn't better out there but do you trust Ted and co to appoint someone better? Remember Jimmy Lowes was offered the job before Kear, where would we be now had he taken over?
Quote ="TURFEDOUT"Theres no one better who would come to us.'"
Again it's more down to who is making the decision. Rather than just getting rid of Kear I'd like to have a good idea of who would be coming in so I could make a judgement on that. My fear is if Kear goes Broadbent will just step up to taking care of all first team duties and another wage is saved without being replaced.
Quote ="TURFEDOUT"Its not his fault - players leaving/limited budget/injuries.'"
This is a huge consideration for Kear and for any coach before or after him. The budget will always be small and most on here have praised Kear for bringing players in on the cheap and making them play like they were on a kings ransom. The problem is then that come contract time they want a kings ransom or they bugger off elsewhere. The departures this year could not have been more significant. Brough was the leader of the team and results often hung on whether he was having a good day or not which he often did. Tronc, when his heart was still in it, was a massive influence making massive yards and with a great off load.
Quote ="TURFEDOUT"But the people that want him out,seem to focus on his coaching ability or lack of it,which has been shown up this season,indeed the guys whole dignity and integrity has been called into question this season.
Just reading back over some of his comments this season after heavy defeats,it becomes quite clear he has lost the plot.
The fact he wanted to leave for Catalans should tell every supporter that his heart isnt in the Wakefield job,hes quite simply taking the money week in week out and will continue to do so until an alternative postion comes up or his contract expires.
He is taking the pi$$ out of the club and every single paying supporter.'"
At what point did he start to lack coaching ability? At the start of the season when we beat Leeds and were unbeaten? When Brough left? When he went for the Catalans job? When we got thumped by, insert team name here,?
Even if Kear's heart wasn't in it, and I have no reason to suspect it isn't as plenty of people apply for other jobs but continue at their present employment with no problems, what good does it do his future job prospects if the team is doing badly?
