When our place went to a public hearing, the objectors came out of the woodwork I don't think any were under 70. Most of them were probably dead by the time it was built anyway.

They were concerned about fighting (think they had been watching Danny Dyer), noise (it used to be a 24 hour a day brewery) to name just 2. basically some people will object to anything.

Good luck with yours, I can't wait to pay it a visit. Will it be in the town/city centre or on the outskirts?

What is "Consveration"? - hint to any budding webmasters out there, if you are going to cock up even the IE header bar, don't bother with the rest of your site! I won't even start on the lack of grammar or punctuation marks in the rest of the document either!

Did they really think they were going to go unknown? Most people know that if you register a website the 'WHO IS' ownership section is searchable.

I would like to thank them for putting such a nice map on their site though, it really shows what a well thought out plan it is - wonder if we could ask for permission to use it ourselves, hehe!!

Is 8th April the deadline for comments of support then? if so anyone on here hasn't forwarded a comment of support then do so it only takes 5 mins and at least everyone on here will be doing their bit. If thats the best the objectors can come up with I don't think we've much to worry about that flyer is libellous I'm sure there was a public consultation at Stanley community centre just before christmas . The map is the best I've seen though al least we can see whats what now

I know it is all said in jest but worth stating that being antagonistic to them will make them look better than they are and make us look like a bunch of football supporters who intimidate rather than raising a valid well thought out arguement.

If we believe in our cause, then we should be happy for a weak challenge. It will strengthen the case if this is the only objection.
If we get defensive about their arguement it simply adds credence to their point.

However, we should also make sure people know the facts so the SWAG guys are doing is still very valuable and needs to be promoted as much as possible until we are watching young Morton scoot over for his first try at Newmarket.

The latest nimby letter to roll in really had me in stitches,

I will be home from Cumbria on sat, I've offered 2 pints for any of my mates in Sandal in return for a quick letter in support. In fact anyone that drinks in the Castle show me a print out of your letter and i will happily get you a couple of jars in!!!- hopefully i can get at least 10 in over the next week!!!
