no truth in the rumour at all,gareth and his girlfriend had a personal problem when they first arrived in australia but that is now behind them and they are both happy building a new life in australia.

for the record gareths family are castleford fans and go to most home games and yes it has been a childhood dream of his to play for castleford,whether that ever happens is anyones guess but if i was castleford id be breaking the bank to bring him to castleford when his wests deal is up.

I'd have him at Cas but it'll not happen for a while yet....if ever.

Like most players Ellis doesn't really support any team, even as a child he didn't go and watch Cas and I doubt it was ever his dream - more like your wet dream - says it all really. He grew up in Selby by the way which isn't part of the peoples republic of Castleford.

Players end up in club Academies for all kinds of reasons, home town alliegence usually plays no part - not in the real world anyway.

He hasn't broken his anything and according to LE had a good game v the Dragons. Ellis is not the sort to throw the towel in IMHO and will see out his contract.

If he does return to the UK it will be to the club who offers him the deal he wants - that could be anyone.

He signed for Wakefield because Stuart Raper said he would never make it as a professional player - so Cas didn't even take an interest in him.

i know from chatting to gareths dad in selby that, it is gareths dads hope he makes a good impression and when he his ready to come back to england go to cas to finish his career, wether that happens who knowsbut that is what mr ellis snr would like, he said he thought of wakefield as the best thing to happen to his career and was really happy to make the break at wakefield, but he moved on now and i honestly think we should just remember him with fondness in his career at wakefield, bu if and i mean if he wanted to come back i would have him back with open arms

i have spent many a time in their company and again your right gareth wasnt brought up castleford they are originally from allerton bywater and gareth would have spent his early years watching his dad play at doncaster, but has a rule other than when they have followed gareth around the globe they get to has many cas games has possible.

the one major factor for gareth not coming to cas would be ryan mcgoldrick has he hates the fella.either way if you read my post again i never said he was signing for cas and i have my doubts he will ever come home full stop the biggest draw for gareth coming home would be missing his mum and sister.

i,m sure this will be shot down but... as i work as a bookseller and am also a big rugby league fan, when jamie peacock came to sign his autobiography in our branch i was asked to run the event which meant chatting alone with him for a fair while. anyway... when i told him i was a cas fan he said i would be pleased to know that gareth ellis is hoping to finish his career at cas when he returns from the nrl, and that ellis is a massive cas fan. i reckon vastman will retort that either i am lying or jamie peacock was pulling my leg, but...
