no. what good coaches do is they assess the opposition as well as how their own players are playing and pick a team accordingly. they should be proactive not reactive. bradford are big....drew and latu are comparitively small. we had more appropriate players on the sidelines. this shouldn't take hindsight to realise

we beat the worst team in sl history weve got to pick a team imo to play the opposition and if that means dropping them or putting them on the bench so be it

yeah i agree thought selection today was a bit strange but realise why he did it, must have thought we could run the big pack around, and we didnt.

also thought we sort of relaxed when we had seen off newton and left rinaldi all the space in the world.

I don't understand the issue. We don't have 3 hookers playing.
We have two hookers who rotate with each other and another player who normally plays hooker now playing in the back row.

It's not a matter of how many people have played hooker before it's how they play in the game.
That's like saying we play with an extra prop cos Snitch used to play there or an extra centre cos JD played there.

Saying all that, if we have too many small men in the pack it isn't going to work so if we need bigger men then we bring them in.
No one complains that Ferguson is too small. He plays a style that suits his physical size. I guess JK is trying to do the same with Latu.

Pitts and Bibb have played well but have let themselves down when the pressure was on. They needed a rest and confidence builder.

If size was the only thing we'd have all the props playing together. Wigan implemented a plan that broke us down the middle. Giants did the same and Bulls did it to a lesser extent today. I'd say it is more about defensive structure than size of the player.

The try under the post for Sykes at the Trin supporters end showed the problem today. Every tackle was made but they got the ball away to a player making an effort to back up....we didn't show the same effort to cover across and support the tackler.

we do realise that latu has been converted to the back row, just that by doing so we are too small against a pack as big as bradfords. easy really

The blind side was lazy in defense all day today - they repeatedly clocked off when the ball went the other way, and when the Bradford forwards (all with offloads) got the ball out and it came back they where exposed.

i think people are being a bit harsh towards sam, i agree that today he was being singled out by the bradford forwards.

Jk starts with sam at hooker so drew dont have to do a load of work at the start of the game. some of you seem to think tht if we stood latu in the middle of the field at the start of the game he would some how do better, i personally think that if we are to get rid of any of the hookers it should be latu as he is being played as a loose forward. so instead of having two props, a hooker and a hooker who is playing at loose on the bench why dont we try three props and a hooker?



I can anticipate that some will say lets get rid of obst and play latu at hooker, for me latu is dangerous but mostly towards his own team when at hooker.

Im thinking we should free up the large sum of money we pay latu and buy either a great big animal of a prop, a ball handling loose forward who can play for more that 25-30 mins like latu does or a big old fashioned hooker like cunningham or even newton

what im trying to say is that although latu has a go he isnt a loose forward because he is too small and he isnt a hooker because of the stupid passes he gives and the general unpredictabillity which i agree confuses the opposition but also confuses our players as well

get rid of sicknote as well

sam is a fantastic player that we definitely should be looking to keep, but i do think the lad would benefit from a couple of weeks rest. at the end of the season, get shut of sick note. let latu go and bring in a good loose forward.
