That does not mean that it could be offered again. As has already been shown on this thread there is plenty of interest but the price is to high. Hopefully the Club will see sense and bring down the minimum number.

| I would imagine there is an administration cost to cover, and maybe much less than £100 raised it becomes unviable?

I agree. I'm not able to pay £100 for some shares but i do pay a tenner a month into SB.
Hopefully if fans cant buy the shares, they could put a couple of quid a month in SB. It all helps.

It's exactly that reason.
The club is obliged to send a copy of the annual accounts each year and also be invited to the AGM. If there was no minimum purchase the cost of producing & distributing these documents would far exceed the money raised in less than 2 years!!!!!
I'm sure that all shareholders (both existing and new) would be very happy to see the club take steps to improve the profitability of the business by setting a minimum shareholding of £100.
Personally, the £100 minimum was far easier to consider than the original minimum of £500 that I understand was initially considered, and I'm glad that as of this morning I can consider myself to own a (very small) part of the club I love.

| Does anyone know if there is a prospectus with issuing the new shares?
They are valued at £1. Are all Trinity shares currently valued at £1?
How do we know the value should we wish to sell them and how would we go about it?
Do they or can they (if times change!) pay profit dividends?
I know I will get the 'its to help the club only' response but we could help the club by donating cash. If I wanted to become a shareholder I am holding a share in the business and am interested in the practicalities of that.
Also how do I apply? Do I call someone for an application form? Does the application form come with some bumf?

Fair enough. Though could they not distribute them via e-mail thus cutting down the costs to almost nothing?

I don't think this is in anyway an investment just a way of generating some income for the Club and giving supporters chance to feel more of a part of the Club.

From memory of Business Studies A Level - there's a difference in how shares are traded between a private limited company (Wakefield Trinity RLFC Ltd.) and a public limited company (BT plc. for example) - the shares are bought from the club, there is no 'stock exchange' for these shares, I don't think they can be sold, other than to the club. No prospectus and it's a private share offering, in a sense.
I could also be completely wrong! Speak to the club direct, and they will explain.
(Chances of ever getting a dividend - slim to zero!)

| Hmm.
Man Utd was different as they were a PLC.
So benefit is just to feel part of the club? Personally I dont think I will bother. Thanks for the info.
I have heard of Wakey giving shares to people/companies in lieu of payment for work done. If they are effectively worthless I am in the wrong business and I think I need to start issuing shares in my company!
Anyone want to buy some?

You could buy them in "trust" for him but as far as I am aware you would need to have legal papers written up for this - which could be costly so for the sake of £100 worth of shares it will probably not be worth it!
What I want to know is the tax implications of the purchase, as they are not traded on an open market what brackets do they fall in?

But basically, as has been said, it's a token gesture. Yes, you own 'part' of the club, but not nearly enough to change things, should you so wish. (I say this without knowledge of how many shares are owned by Ted Richardson et al, but the point is true.) This is not an investment - in the same way buying a share in your favourite football team as a gift is.
If you think it is - speak to an independent financial advisor, and I'm sure they'll agree....and if you think it is an investment, I've got a load of old Wakey tat here you can buy off me. A snip at £25,000....it's an investment!

| come on let's not try and complicate it. A share is a share in a business the clue is in the name!
I have a limited company and there are 8 shares in issue currently held by 2 people. If I created a 9th and sold it to you you would be invested in my business and would expect a portion on control and profit proportionate to your share holding plc or not to plc
Granted Wakey shares may have special terms re profit but they should have a value if the co is sold on otherwise you have been sold a piece of paper only.
Why have a min investment for a piece of paper?

I bought mine when the club needed help and will try to find some more cash to help fund again i suspect most shareholders have bought for this reason alone.
I expect nothing back in return other than the secure future of the club. To those who think they may have some value at some point and may get some return, well i hope thats the case.

So why havent you put £100 donation when we were struggling in pre-season. This is not a question directed to you personally (even though ive quoted you ).
All im saying is that why has it needed the return of a piece of paper with 100 shares written on it to make people invest in the club.
