Don't know how the Wakefield Express has the cheek to call itself a newspaper. It has been crap since being taken over by the Johnstone Press (who own The Yorkshire Post by the way). Any paper worth its salt would have picked a scandal like this up early doors and given it full publicity. Why would a so called local newspaper that is neither put together in this city or printed here give a damn. Their Trinity news looks as though it's all been plagiarised from this forum.

I'm afraid that I don't have detailed enough knowledge of the full proceedings regarding the whole debacle otherwise I would be straight in there myself, but there are plenty on this forum that have the knowledge, and I'm sure that Private Eye would be very receptive to any submission.

Whilst I cant do anything about it over here in Australia- I to think some sort of protest or outcry by the fans will be perfect for next Thursday especially as it is on sky!!

Every fan bring a banner or something saying save Bellevue or save wakey..... the sky cameras will pick it up and at very least will give national and international exposure to our plight

just do Stop correcting "something" anything to get the point across to the sky cameras!!

Actually the law changed at midnight 30th sept/1st October 2012 making it an offence to tow/fine a vehicle parked on private land and for the record you cannot enforce the road traffic/highways act on private land

I was under the impression that the covenant on the ground restricted it use whilst we chose to remain. I regret that now we have voluntarily washed our hands we have lost the security it provided.
I would remind people once again that even if the current building was included it did not reach the threshold to build us a ground. I guess we blinked first and have weakened our position. What can we now do other than to move away, who will that hurt only the supporters not the developer, council or even our board who will be able to pass the responsibility to the new ground owners.
I hope we are not being sacrificed on the alter of self interest. I would ask if this was Ted or Glover making this decision how well do you think it would be received. I doubt we would blindly accept this decision but it was in our name so I look forward to finding out the plan the board have to ensure we stay in Super Leage at a ground that is easily accessible to those who have invested more than just money supporting Wakefield Trinity.

The fans are in the dark regarding the stadium situation and the only way to get full blooded support would be to go public.
It's the only real disappointing episode in a what seems on the surface a successfully run club and the fact that you reacted in the manner you did would be a clear indication that it's got you frustrated and probably beat.

There is no such covenant and never was. It was a planning condition imposed on the housing consent on Belle Vue which expired last year.

You demand the guy is honest and fights for the club and when he is but it doesn't suit you you chastise him in the most condescending manner - unbelievable.

What frustrates me more then anything, is the insinuation that I am in this for personal gain, or for an ego boost! Everyone involved in the stadium trust is fighting tooth and nail to get what was promised to the citizens of Wakefield. And I will continue this fight whether I am involved in the club or not. Because it's not a club matter!!! It was promised to every single citizen of Wakefield. There will be those who actually use the club as an argument against what has happened.
Finally, if you want to know everything, approach a member of the trust about joining it? These individuals are continuing this fight in their own free time. I'm pretty sure they could all find better things to do. They are all as frustrated as you are. But they deserve your unquestioned backing. Because without them we'd be in even bigger trouble.

What frustrates me is that you let nobs with their own agenda, like Scarlet Pimp, draw you in.

You are absolutely correct, I shouldn't.

Surely the whole reason we are leaving is that the ground is down to safety concerns and the fact that its unsuitable under RFL/Superleague rules. The club and the people of Wakefield have been let down on too many occasions. The latest combination of the sale fiasco and a new landlord who doesn't seem to want to help are the final straw. It's a case of move or be damned. To even suggest this is remotely for personal gain is probably one of the most crass things I've seen on here.

Taking a look at today's Wakefield Express it presents a number of story's that could be linked .
Wakefield council intend to close sporting venues in Wakefield park and surrounding areas. Golf tennis fishing and bowls are all to be closed down from April 1st. Unfortunately it does not cover how much will be saved or how the sporting activities will be saved.
Another story involves the importance of sport for at entry levels for female participants.
Wakefield council have and will continue to decimate sport in the Wakefield area and a campaign to unite and form a united front would be a positive form of action.
