There were no terms and conditions, because I was looking for them. Although you could ask for a refund, I'm not sure the club could get out of it if people said, "no thank you, I don't want a refund, I want the item I have bought and for which you have said I have paid the full price."

On the other hand, I ought to say that although I am a solicitor, I have only worked in criminal law. My contract and consumer law knowledge has not been utilised since my undergraduate days, which was two decades ago.

Cast your mind back to your undergraduate days. There are 5 elements to a Contract, they are:

1. Invitation to Treat.
2. Offer.
3. Acceptance.
4. Consideration.
5. Performance.

The flyer offering ST's at £100 is the Invitation to Treat. You have made an Offer of £100.00 and the Club has accepted your offer (Acceptance) by taking your money which is the Consideration. Performance is the handing over to you of the ST but this has not happened yet because they have not been printed.

I believe that you have a contact and the Club must give you a ST for the £100 you have given them. I do not believe Contractually they can ask for any additional sum.

As I have posted on the TV Advert thread I dont know why everyone is getting so wound up. If you have committed to purchase a ST for £100 you will get one whether the traget of 2,500 is achieved or not. There is no way the Club are going to risk a PR and Financial disaster by asking for more money (which is contractually wrong in my opinion) or giving people their money back.

I was told on the 'phone about the possibility of being asked for another £75, but having received this email I just don't see how they can now ask for more. Without this confirmation maybe, but not now (email received a few days ago, despite me ordering on day 1 of the offer)...

Sorry but I think a lot of you are being really thick on this one. The offer WAS clear but I get the impression some of you will kick off if asked to pay more? If you didn't get the offer in the first place then you should have asked about it then. If you are going to kick off then that shows stupidity on your behalf and in my opinion a lack of support for the club.

I understood it perfectly. But I do think if we are just short that raising it by £75 would be highly detrimental to st figures.

There is no way the price will be increased by 75 quid, regardless of the amount sold or the ambiguous wording of the various documents that have been quoted.

This time last year, we had sold 100 ST's; to date, we've sold in excess of 2,000 - the club will be well satisfied with that and there's no way they'll risk alienating the people who are already bought in.

My comment wasn't aimed directly at you, sorry if it came across like that. I just don't get why people are hinting they would take legal action against a club they are supposed to love purely for not understanding the simple conditions of the season ticket offer!

I agree with your point about the implications of raising the price though. Me and my mate who have our names down for tickets would be getting our cash back. I can't guarantee being able to attend 9 home games so I probably wouldn't be better off by getting a season ticket (especially when considering any special offers that may be on the gate price for any particular game).

If we got to 2499 then I'd be prepared to buy the last one for another £100 then sell it for £25 to a needy soul, thus costing me the £175 in total that I was going to be charged anyway.

Got a family ticket today which counts as four.The shop was busy and they sold another eight in the five minutes i was in.I'm certain we'll hit the target.

Well me and my brother to get our two golds on friday or saturday. Payday on friday could see a last surge and we should be just about making the 2500. will be a good effort and can see a few more sold along with 2012 shirts for the xmas period (maybe boosted by player signings and stadium investment/improvement).

2012 could very well see a busy year down at belle vue. With away fans always whinging that they dont like belle vue because of open air, elements and no atmosphere there will be less of an excuse not to go.

we just need the on-field performances to match the positivity of the off-field stuff to keep these fans wanting more in 2013 and aim for a higher figure ST sales wise.
