Sounds idyllic. Obviously I don't know you at all, but going from your posts, I think you're a good bloke who would find it hard to criticise anyone, a glass half full kinda guy, always sees the good in everybody. I think you would give pats on the back, and encourage no matter what, and it would go against your better nature to be critical, which you know what, you'd be a better man than me honestly. I just think you find it hard to understand people who criticise, because you can't see how that helps a certain situation? But I think you're missing the point mate?!! They are being critical because they can't see how that would make a situation worse than it already is?! It's a way of releasing frustration I guess, venting anger, letting off steam, maybe feeling slightly cheated in their eyes, that they've paid their hard earned, and they ain't getting value for their money?!! No team in any sport has a divine right to win any game, and losses have to be taken on the chin etc.......but in my eyes, there's a way to lose, and the way we lost to London twice, Salford and the last game to me were unacceptable, because we didn't compete. You may disagree, which is fair enough, as it isn't an exact science as re. 'effort' being put in. I bet though we are both in agreement that both of us and 99% of people on here want a successful Wakefield Trinity, after seemingly endless years of false dawns and disappointment, and most of the waffle on here is pure frustration, and not malicious in any way.....

In all fairness I agree with you and understand what you are saying about why people post what they post.
You are right that I'm more likely to find a way to encourage than criticise but I'm as critical as the next guy when I want to be.
The difference for me is that I don't like the follow up reaction of 'sack him', or 'he's rubbish'. I'm just not as black and white as that. Even though I don't like where we are and don't much like how we are playing, I still think the core group of players are the right group and I want to see them get out of it.
I get that people are just passionate. If I didn't I probably wouldn't post on here.

| All any fan want regardless of sport is when they put their club shirt on and run out for their club is to play with passion and pride ,regardless if they win or lose as long as they have seen to give their all the fans will be right behind them through thick and thin.
I’ll be on the terraces on Friday night like I’ve been for over 50 years ,and I’ll be happy win or lose if I can see that the team have put the effort in ,not a lot to ask for really.Im not expecting them to be at their best but I am hoping we are competitive .What frustrates me more about this squad we have got is it’s by far the best assembled in my memory yet that spark has gone on the field .Lets hope we all find a way to reignite that spark staring this Friday

Why arnt you expecting them to be at their best? I certainly am. We are in a bit of a rut at the moment and wel learn a lot about the squad in the next few weeks. Have we got a JD or a few of them with some dog in them to stick their hands up and say give me it or il do it or the March twins over my dead body attitude with that annoying little rat in them. If we have I hope we see it and we meet the challenge head on.

That speaks volumes about the kind of man Jordan is in my opinion. Whilst I'm not happy at all with the performance (of the team, not one person in particular) I am heartened by the fact that he felt the need to apologise. That tells me that he (and hopefully the rest of the team) are feeling the pain too and willing to do something about it.

With Big Dave likely to be missing, perhaps it's time for Pauli to put his hand up ???
(He obviously would be the BIGGEST rat we have ever seen in a Trin shirt !!)

| If fans weren't interested and invested in the on-field performance, they wouldn't turn up, or express a view about what they perceive to be sub-par, for whatever reason; that *is* support - it just happens, at times like this, to not be positive, unequivocal support. It's their passion, desire and concern for the club that leads to questions, complaints and criticism when things don't go well.
Of all the things the team have to worry about right now, whether some fans want rid of Chester is way down the list; given that we're now hovering around the relegation places, with a run of very tough fixtures ahead, on-field performance should be their only focus.

| i havnt been a season ticket holder for about 4 years because of work commitments. I can honestly say I have missed attending all the home games, however its sometimes for the best particularly when I don't feel compelled to attend
I used to go to all matches home and away but have never been to France or any of the tragic events. watching wakefields always been a trial but things seemed to improve over the last couple of seasons only to have returned recently to the same situation. on the whole I think the Trinity faithful have been top notch over the years and its probably the high expectations that's resulted in the back lash.

Indeed.
It's the hope(expectation) that kills you in the end.
In context, even with the mass of injuries and the recent poor form (largely due to those injuries), Trinity aren't having as bad season.
A couple of years ago, we would have all been fairly happy with our current position - 8th with a chance of making the play offs.
However, with the way that last season went and with some squad improvement over the close season, many of us thought that we would really challenge for the top 5.
Even the club stated that we were aiming for a play off spot.
Were these hopes optimistic, maybe or have we fallen short in performance, probably.
IF we can clear the demons from our collective heads, a play off spot is still there for the taking.
However, right now, the players dont have the belief and we look more likely to be dragged into the relegation tussle, that make the play offs.
Who'd be a Trinity fan ?
It's certainly never dull and predictable.

Maybe so but my point still stands it seems in a lot of people’s eyes your lad can’t do anything without copping it. He could turn up early for a visit to pinders kids ward and get hammered by some fans for it.

I've bagged him on numerous occasions but also praised him when necessary. I think more is expected of Jordan, Max and Batch because they're homegrown and because of how much of a success Johnstone was/is. They're all clearly talented and IMO we definitely have other players who the limelight should be on at the moment due to poor performances #BFP

| Like a lot of the older supporters I've seen some good times and some dross over the last forty odd years, but like many I'm still turning up. As a fan/supporters all I can do is turn up home and away , pay my entrance/season ticket, buy a bit of merchandise and trust in those who have forgotten more about Rugby League than I'll ever know, to do the best for Wakefield Trinity.
I try not to slag off ( Aussies bag, I slag 'cos I'm English) players as they are doing something that I was never good enough or tough enough to do. A Rugby League pitch is no place for a faint heart so 99.9% of all players have my respect for stepping over the whitewash.
I think sometimes as supporters we are guilty of setting our expectations far too high so when the disappointments come the lows are harder to bear.

Its funny you mention the expectation side of this after 40 odd years of watching there hasn't been much hope or expectation, taking more from our ability to overcome adversity and survive when everything is against us - league, money, various chairman, the ground, .... list is endless. But this last season or so have travelled with genuine expectation mainly on the back of a stable squad and a stable financial situation.
So i started the season with genuine expectation of top 5 or thereabouts, even with ten or 11 players out we were still getting an odd win and there or thereabouts - so once we got pretty much a full backline out and a decentish pack I thought we d be back on track - which makes the last dozen or so performances doubly upsetting -
Think it just shows that we are a team of tryers with three or four genuine top quality players - brough, fajita, johnstone and tupou who are the players that can greet generate magic, lacking them at 100% we really do struggle.
If your leeds you can sign 11 new players to effect a turnaround we just aren't in that position so guess we have to make do and mend its just frustrating
