Went through Cas this morning, and in a van window was a sign saying no toilet rolls left in this van overnight.

The cheap stuff goes down ok but, if you use any of the fancy stuff, you may have a blockage

Took me a while to get through the waffle, but I persevered & still couldn’t find where you attempted to answer the very simple points I actually made about NHS beds & chronic underfunding. Waffling is a classic trick, as old as time, used to avoid answering uncomfortable points whilst giving the impression of answering, but feel free to have another go, just keep it to under fifty character if possible mate. Oh & not once did I claim to have changed the course of government policy, but you knew that I was referring to the very obvious changes in their policy & the opposing advice they gave. Another classic trick of grand standing to over exaggerate a point that was never made.
To bring Piers Morgan into it is the most insulted I’ve been in ages though so kudos on that front!!

It's not waffle it's his opinion which on his own ground he's entitled to voice, maybe he didn't answer some of your points because like most of us he doesn't have them, you seem to think you have all the answers so crack on chief and educate us, and could you kindly do it without bringing politics into it as your bitterness is plainly obvious.

If someone has criticism of a point, that’s fine but address the point. The poster chose to make assumptions about me rather than address any of the points I made. I’m not claiming to have all the answers, the world is not so simple that there is one or even two answers! so let’s discuss them, no matter how uncomfortable it might make people feel.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but opinion does not equal or trump hard facts. One such fact is that NHS beds have been cut to the tune of around 10,000 beds over the last decade - beds that would come in pretty bloody handy right now, don’t you think. Another one is that the vast majority of our public services have been begging for help from the government in that same period of time. Help we were told wasn’t possible; help we were told we didn’t need cos we were crying wolf. So yeah; I get pretty vexed when people attempt to take the spotlight off those who have directly led our services to be at breaking point.
That you don’t think politics has anything to do with this is astonishing in my opinion (not fact)!

Just had a quick read & you’re right Bren; I was waaaay out with my figures & would like to apologise if I misled anyone (I’d like to claim I was counting the extra beds in the 40 brand spanking new hospitals we’ve been promised, but that would be a lie)!

NHS staff have now been given times by supermarkets in which they will be able to shop which is a God send for those that have struggled to get groceries

I'm even more surprised that the 4 stacks of bricks which the van's axles were resting on were still there.

the severity off the situation we're all in hits you harder when you know someone or related to someone who's effected by it, yesterday we had news that there was a case at my partners fathers care home, they have gone into hospital we're just waiting now if it's going to spread within, also a carer who looked after my mother yrs ago yesterday lost her father.

We're fighting something we can't see, listen to the advice and do more if you can

Just checked bbc website, the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals ( Wakefield, Pontefract, Dewsbury)report a total number of 54, victims. Sadly the true figure will be higher, due to current figures being only for those who passed away in hospitals.

Lost a couple of ex colleagues to this already. It appears all or nothing this virus with a few able to fight it when it gets hold. The Country appears to hav put itself in a good position to fight it with the NHS however the death rate is a couple of weeks behind so I dont expect news on falaties to improve anywhere soon. I also fear that we are behind the south i.e. London and we still have this to come the social distance has clearly had an impact but so will those who chose to flaunt the rules

These are very anxious times for a lot of people. I hope that everyone stays safe and your loved ones too. Working in Critical Care I see first hand on a daily and nightly basis what this virus has done and is doing. I feel very fortunate that none of my family or loved ones have become ill. all going well, looks like they have it under control at the moment, she had a Skype phone call today and a little chat which made her day, he's soon going to have 85th birthday where we will be allowed to see him at a distance

Same here BLM...watching the wife standing at the living room window, staring aimlessly into space, with tears running down her cheeks. It breaks my heart to see her like this.
I've thought very hard how I can cheer her up....I've even considered letting her come in, but rules are rules !!
