My horse is certainly no higher than the constant moaners on here, if anyone can da better job than our current Directors, then put up or shut up, and no, I’m not happy win the on field performances, but I can’t do anything about that, all I can do is continue to Support the club.

| Reality is we have played 3 of last years top 4 and are at this point where most expected after 3 rounds!
That said round 4-9 are where we play most of the bottom 6 and this is now where we need to post some points. Season truly starts now.
The Wigan game wasn’t pretty but we were well in with the other two.
Yesterday was a very strong defensive performance in defence. Just need to smarter up in the oppositions 20 and not turn over the ball so early in the set.
The effort was great.
Kershaw and Kay were excellent yesterday, Crowther and Proctor were all over in defence and worked very hard.
Langi was very busy though he got pushed back a little.
I hope the players take heart from that defence and look to build on top of that with some improvements in the attack. If they do points in the league won’t be far away.
Eseh made his debut and I liked what I saw. He drove in well and tackled hard. He made a mistake offloading on the 2nd but it was a pretty good debut and I hope we see him vs Leeds.
If Golding is coming on loan I’d welcome that. I rate him.
I have to say I think I’d try Smith - Lino in halves.
Gaskell last season at 6 we scored very few try’s in the handful of games he played there. I just don’t think he’s a halfback or a full back and some players just aren’t pivotal players. Not knocking his effort though but he’s a centre for me.
Unless golding comes I’d keep the backs the same next week.
Take what we did against Hudds and smarted up making a few improvements and we could see some joy from Leeds game.

Glad to know that I could wipe out a 2 million det, and get a stadium up to S L standed on my pension .The trouble is with Mr Carter he does not know enough about rugby league and trust is coaches to much . After B Smith left we got J K as overlooker ,The trouble was when he left we started going down hill fast,so when W Poaching took over he had a old poor squad held up by over seas players who had been giving 100% plus 2 or 3 players who were S L standed . | Defensively, a huge, huge improvement and every player 1-17 was up for the fight.
However, we were really disappointing with ball in hand.
To go 160 mins plus without registering a point, speaks for itself.
It's certainly a step forward though and let's hope that we can keep on making progress.
Kershaw was outstanding, mom for me.

Player power and consultation with senior members of the team saw Poching not offered a new contract.
The team did not feel like they were being coached and certain players pretty much took things into their own hands at the back end of last season.

As said Mr Carter takes bad advice W Poaching had been around T Smith for a long time Guess he new what he was doing The fitness lvl seemed a lot higher than this season from day one .How many of the players who complained have left Would have been good to watch him rebuild the team ,though he was doing a good job my self and brining in younger players,

I don’t think he did in relation to us and nothing with regards the pitch but that could be because they won.

No but I see the media were purposefully taking photos of players legs at the game to generate an after game story. They took pictures of Proctor and Taufua knees.
It’s 3 week till we play on it next so I would imagine it will continue to improve.

You could name 20 things wrong with our squad but Hood isn’t one of them.'"

| The fact that you see a good player like Smith fluffing his lines at acting halfback shows how good Hood is.

Think it is more down to Smith not been a S L player ,one more bad signing from what I have seen . First time I have watch players at Wakefield and know who ever plays the standed will be poor with ball in hand. Going to Leeds to see if we can score a try

I don't agree but as a team we do need to get our attack more in tune.
We panic too quickly a rush things when a bit of composure would get us the trys.

I think Smith just needs to get used to the pace and pressure of Super League. He seems to do the dumb play or offload that might have been ok in the championship but get punished at SL level.

| I don't get this 'we've played three of the Top Four teams so it's okay to have lost all three games as that is what was expected'. I can't comment on the Catalans game as I was away and couldn't attend but as regards Wigan, I expected a loss but not by so many. Friday night was utterly disappointing as Huddersfield were there for the taking. As my father would have said 'a good team would have got a 100'. Yet time and again we let them off with a practically none existent attack. Apart from some good runs by Kershaw nobody else seemed to have a clue. Did we actually make a break in the entire match? People standing near me kept saying it was the worst match they had seen in a long time. Apart from the defence which only let us down once when they managed to walk in for their try their was little to cheer about. We have to beat rubbish like Hudds on Friday if we are to stand any chance of staying up.

75th minute Taufua made a break on the left, other than that it was rinse and repeat for the entire match, not withstanding a crap kick from Gaskell in the last minute. It's frustrating to see how laboured in attack we are, and when we got into good field position early on in the tackle count we made an error.

I can't recall, was that the 'dangerous' lift where the attacker was safely lowered onto his back?

| Just watched the game on Trinity tv. I thought our defence was outstanding for large parts. Crowthers inclusion within the side was visible straight away with his intensity and line speed, we have really missed that. I thought for large periods we were the better side and actually dominated especially in the forwards. All our forwards were outstanding apart from Atoni who I thought needed to be involved in the game more. He doesn’t look for work like the rest of our forwards and can be really passive. I genuinely would be happy for him to have a spell in the reserves as I don’t know whether this is a fitness or attitude issue. The high work rate of our forwards really make him stand out, and can go literally 2 sets without even making a drive which for a front rower is bizarre.
Our attack although disjointed still had positives. Our kicking game was remarkably better with Gaskell having the better kicking game of the 2 halves. We were very easily read on the over lap play with Gaskell getting caught time after time with their players jamming in early to great effect. We never looked like troubling their line, but actually when did we actually have a set on their line, our ball retention was really poor, so could never apply pressure.
Kershaw was excellent, his ball carry and defensive reads were really good. When ever they chipped behind, you knew they would be dealt with unlike in weeks gone by.
Kaye was good at FB. Our lack of attack was obviously down to Kaye being new to the role and FB is just as important as any position in the spine when attacking. We massively miss Max, as we unlocked Catalan at ease on their line, which is no coincidence. The more I watch Smith at hooker the more I think he really isn’t suited to it. For me he needs a run at 6. With him and Hood offering little go forwards from the 9 role, it just blunts our attacking threat, lumbering Lino and Gaskell to create everything, which will be heightened even more with losing Max.
All in all I thought we did well, some of the comments on here you’d think we were abysmal. Look at the teams we’ve plate already in Wigan and Catalan who both spanked Cas and Hull FC. I don’t think we’re in as bad a position as people are making out. Cut out the errors and be more composed

Pretty much how I saw the game. I don’t honestly think I’d change much at all for Leeds.
We do need a full back with experience like Golding or Shaul.
The only change I would make is putting Smith at 6 for Gaskell. I just don’t see Gaskell as a pivotal player though I’m happy for him to challenge for a centre spot.
Some fans are going way OTT. Yes the Wigan game wasn’t pretty but the other
2 we were in the contest almost to the end. This is against
3 of last years top 4.
The most important part is coming next when we face teams you’d consider around us. From now to round 9/10 we need to bag a few wins.

I’d happily give Smith a go at 6 against Leeds. No doubt Gaskell will play though. Gaskell is best at centre in my opinion, it’s working wonders for Ratchford at Warrington. If we could bring in a FB some how this week that would be great. Bob Kaye back to 2nd hooker.

I’d certainly go with that. If we don’t bring a full back in then if Bowes is fit he would come in as second hooker so Smith could go to 6.
With Lyne been out and Hall needing to work on his defence I’d happily see Langi and Gaskell as centres vs Leeds.
