As for the offer of loaning the dvd from your buddy watching wakey in 79 in colour for the first time.....I think I will save the witty remarks for this time next week, where I expect a wall of silence

Apologies for allowing our light hearted banter giving opportunity for the dumbing down of the thread.
By the way, we are under no illusions about what the probable outcome at LSV is going to be next week. The absolute minimum is that we'll just enjoy the build up and game on the day and be thankful for the National Media exposure and extra cash generated. Anything above that is a bonus.

Believe it or not there are one or two cas fans who genuinely would like to see wakey do it!
Just can't see it myself, looked a sharp well drilled outfit and powerful from 1-13 the other week against us

| Well we got the bite back from the Cas fans. It was obviously going to come.
Season isn't over though.
The end of the season is after the next 7 games. I reckon we'll be above Cas by then, which is what matters.

| According to Cas all the way on the VT they had 10 first team players missing yesterday, this was promptly out trumped by towns88 to thirteen missing players and by tomorrow it will probably have risen even further.
What would be interesting to know is which of the following players that played yesterday Crooks, McShane, Gale, Springer, Milner, Patrick, Mariano, Millington, Moors, O. Holmes. would make way for these injured automatic choices?

| Bear in mind that Massey only misses games when Salford aren't playing the same day, regardless of fitness.
It is the norm now, started by Wigan, for fans to list every squad player injured just to show how a supposed 2nd string is bravely struggling on.

In my opinion, those missing who would be in our strongest 17 line up would be:
1. Dorn
2. Hitchcox
3. Shenton
4. Webster
5. Solomona
6. Roberts.
8. Lynch
12. Mcmeeken
13. Massey.
Other injuries:
Monaghan
Robson
Jewitt
Chase
Only DP knows what his strongest line up is but to go into any and without your first choice 1-6 is ridiculously unlucky before you even consider the losses in the pack.
But that's how it's been pretty much all season for us and I personally am amazed we've made the top 8.

According to the match report in League Express we had 14 missing.
Have a look at the shirt numbers for the backs who started yesterday:-
18
34
19
11
24
15
7
Only Gale at 7 is first choice.

| Cas were missing a back line, Trinity were missing a pack (exacerbated by the loss of Molloy and the injury to Ashurst). Ultimately this told and the lack of power enabled the weakened three quarters to run riot.

| We did lose Larne Patrick very early on with concussion and he didn't return. As we had a half back on the bench that only left us 2 forwards, debutant Savelio and Maher who didn't feature until the final 10 minutes.
Fifita looks promising and i liked the way he responded to the jibes of the Cas fans.

You and your cas mates seem to be missing the point here, If we believe what we're led to believe that those players absent from yesterday's game were absolute shoe in's, backs or forwards it matters not to me, which of the players offered on that list that played yesterday would not play if the injured players towns88 and co. boast about would not have got a start,
fairly simple question really.

So what.
We were missing Johnstone, Gibson, Jones Bishop and lost Tupou in the game in the backs
We were missing England, Moore, Simon, Kirmond and Anderson from our starting pack
Annakin is out who would be next in line, with Walker, Howarth and Yates our front row back up not available to us (that's our fault though)
We also lost Ashurst with a broken jaw and Sio injured too.
We all have injuries. Just get on with it. You won. Why would you even be on here trying to justify why you didn't win by more?

Cool your jets! Chissit asked a question and I gave my answer. I wasn't trying to get into an argument nor have I tried to justify anywhere that we should/could have won by more!
The reason I haven't commented on wakey a injury list is that I don't know it (cos they're not my team)!

You are guilty though of shall we say gilding the lily for want of a better expression, you have players unavailable for selection so have we, and if you stopped feeling sorry for yourself for one minute you'll notice that so has every other club in SL, like us they have just rotated the squad what's available and most importantly haven't played UP the fact we've won while having injuries.
As two or three have boasted you've won with injuries and while admitting your coach does not know his best 17, then surely that devalues your claim and/or excuses when you have lost.

Aye you certainly tonked us in the first half alright, you only got on top in the last twenty minutes when we we're out on our feet from trying to cope with only one fit interchange on the bench and your bigger forwards.
You can't be that ambitious if you are happy to finish 6th at the end of the season, especially if you get those 15/16 players back into contention.

Where as Wakefield are targeting the treble next year?
Powell believed there was a chance of silverware at the start of the season as did I, but with the long layoffs of players that was never going to happen.
So finishing in 6th is a good achievement ,end of.

Wow! I'll take that I could've worded it differently; that's the problem with text as you can't hear the tone etc. Aside from that I'm not feeling sorry for myself and am well aware that other clubs suffer injuries and if you have an issue with "two or three boasters" then I suggest you take that up with them as I wasn't been boasting.
You asked a question which players wouldn't have played on Sunday so I provided a list of ones that I would imagine would've played - quick tip; don't ask questions if you're not prepared to accept the answers.
Finally; I wasn't suggesting DP doesn't know his strongest line up, merely that I don't know what he thinks his strongest line up is! - cos I'm not him!
Clearly losing a game that ultimately meant little to either team still hurts a little despite some protestations.

We've already got silverware this season. Its called the Adam Watene trophy and its a shame none of your fans stayed behind to watch the presentation. Thought you may have shown more respect for a great bloke.

| Well I was still in the ground at 17:05 with 6 other Wakey supporters clapping both teams and chewing the cud prior to being asked to leave as we were the last ones left HTH?
Also not sure 100% but the watene memorial trophy is not silver in construction or colour so can't really be described as "silverware" it's definitely a trophy but is also a memorial for a player that gave 100% for both our clubs (and a bit for BRADFORD )
