Huge congratulations to all Trinity fans, we at Warrington had to go through you have when our application was called in, so I know what it's like being on edge for months. Enjoy Belle Vue while she's still there like we did at Wilderspool, you can't erase the history and great matches you remember but the sentimentality you may feel will disappear once you've tasted 21st century facilities. Really looking forward to visiting you in your new surroundings, well done for the fight you've all shown.

Thank you. One hears negative comments from afar sometimes so it's nice to hear support for the cause. To be honest, I want all RL clubs to prosper...even Castleford. Our sport has always had to stand against prejudice and a condescending attitude, to be heard in the country as a whole and we really ought to show this kind of mutual support always. Come franchise time I hate the in fighting/ slanging that occurs. Decided on the pitch....ultimately there is no other way for me, provided your facilities are up to it

Some people just like to be the big I AM. No doubt she will still be looking for an option to make thousands of Wakefield fans miserable and deny thousands of others a job. Seems her number is up. Hope it was worth it.

I would like to ask how we have a planning system that enables such spurious objections to so egregiously delay decent and well thought out plans. It seems any individual or institution that wants to delay something for their own ends, can find easy ways to do it

Just read on the Cas board (other site) this is going to dramatically increase the cases of childhood athsma in the Wakefield area! Apparantly our youngsters will never be able to play as they will all be on 3 or 4 seperate inhalers! To make it worse, he isn't even joking - I have never seen a forum with as many cranks on it as that one.

Really pleased with the news and don't want to put a damper on things, but I won't be getting too carried away until the diggers are in!!

All we have is paper at the moment. We now need the units to sell for the stadium to be built but I'm guessing some deals may have already been done????

It would be very surprising if YCP haven't been beavering away in the background doing just that.

I think that the detail of the SoS's decision is actually very positive for us; it requires the developer and the Council to sign off a binding s106 agreement with respect to delivery of the stadium, so that will give a clear indication of timescales and such.

You're right to be cautious, but we've certainly cleared a massive hurdle.

Talking to a guy who reckoned it would cost circa £20 million to build a 12000 seater to a decent standard. Which begs the question in these financially straitened times.....who exactly is going to cough up that money?

Obtaining Full Planning Permission might have been the easy part of the equation. Obtaining a suitable financial package could be a tad more challenging.

It is a community stadium, and as part of the community you are welcome to use it, if not that is fine.
