| Quote ="trinwildcat10"Some of the wakefield public such as me and my partner wanted to order season tickets at start of september when we got paid however couldnt afford to pay £200 for the 2 tickets then part way through the month the cost was allowed to be split between 2 payments but by this time we couldnt afford so now we will just be picking our matches as payday isnt till the first fri in october and we can't sign up for the offer now.
People are on here slagging people off over not buying the option when for some people they simply cant afford.
So instead of watching all the games and spending money in the bar, club shop and on food we will watch maybe 5 or 6 games for the season as we wont have the cash to spend every time we go.
This is a situation that i know is quite a few people I work with are in, they missed the chance at beginning of september due to paying for money on credit cards etc spent over the summer.
They want to sign up but the cut off date means that they cant.
Why not extend the offer by a month allowing more fans to sign up, reach the target and make everyone happy. Surely more people at games buying beers, food etc will make the club more money in the long run!! Just a bit of common sense.
Mind you common sense and wakefield dont always mix well!!'"
having the limited period is there for the fans to take advantage of the offer and also dip feed the coffers at a time when not much money is coming into the club,
not sure why within the limited period is there no facility to sign up for extended payments which would of made it far easier for the likes of you that find it harder to pay in full.
I know they have gone now to a two payment scheme but still doesn't go all the way for some and I think that we could of doubled the season ticket tally if they had done so.
if we don't reach the target and I have to cough up a further £150 I might be looking at a return as the bloody washing machine is on its last legs, that's how tight things are getting

Well hopefully we hit the 2500 mark and then the £100 offer remains open for everyone else all the way through to start of the season so that people such as yourself can get one!

I don't mean to come across as patronising and I don't profess to know the financial circumstances of others, but if those that get paid on the first Friday of the month are complaining that they used their last pay to clear a credit card bill inclusive of summer spending, but didn't have the additional funds available for a season ticket, why can they not use the same credit card now to purchase a season ticket today and pay it off when they get paid on the first Friday of next month? The time between the payment and clearing the payment would not have interest charged on it. The cut off date in that case only effects those that don't have a credit card or those who were planning to pay with cash only.
If the cut off date was today it wouldn't change the ability to do this, and unless those that are using this reason as a means for not buying a season ticket don't understand how a credit card works or are still paying off their summer spend, that is nothing other than an excuse.

| There was no reason that the ticket offer couldn't have run until 31st January, that would have given those who signed up in August a full six months to find £100.
You could have joined the scheme at any time between Aug & Jan on the understanding that it had to be paid by equal monthly payments so had you joined in Oct you would make 4 equal monthly payments of £25, Nov 3 equal payments of £33.33 and so on.
Sandwiching the offer into a six week period that falls between Summer holidays, back to school and Christmas while also expecting fans to pay for the last few games of the 2011 season was poor planning of a very good offer.

| Here's a controversial one for you all!
What if the club achieve the number required and therefore achieve a number of season ticket sales that the previous regime could only dream of? Would it then be a stroke of genius - not to say a massive cash injection for the club!
Just saying like!

If they stopped selling them now with about 1,500 sold it still represents an achievement but that doesn't mean it couldn't have been better planned than it seems to have been.

Is that the case, I thought this was an early incentive at £100?
I assumed afterwards that the price would go back up to the normal ST price.

Think the idea is to put a quarter of a million pounds in the coffers at the end of this season, rather than over the next 4 months.
I imagine that puts the club in an entirely different place with such things as ground upgrades and player recruitment.

Now I understand the 2 interpretations of the offer. My assumption was that the season ticket was £100 for a limited time during September unless 2500 tickets are sold and then the price will remain at £100 for tickets bought after this, otherwise they will revert to the normal early-bird price of £175.
I'm still with slugger on this one. I guess the club need a cash injection during September and by not denying the (unofficial?) rumour that people will be asked to pay £75 simply adds pressure for those who have bought tickets to promote the 2500 target
Can anyone point me to an official statement from the club which clearly states which is true?

| I personally think that the offer should run until the end of october but at the very least it should finish at the end of the current domestic season, i.e. after the grand final. To finish an early bird offer even before the season has ended is a little strange.

This could really backfire , if a lot of money troubled Christmas worried people go and get a refund this could put the club in a financial slump . I'm very worried that we rolled a dice wanting a 7 here

Its all very murky has to what when and how this all works BUT i would imagine you could get a refund unless you signed something to say otherwise.
If you look at the offer its full of holes and is not clear (missleading) in the eyes of a solicitor.

I disagree.
The information was all there, though perhaps not coherently presented for some people.
As long as 2500 memberships are achieved, the early bird price of £100 will be honoured. Should it not be met people are entitled to decline the offer and have their £100 returned or to pay the extra £75.
Taken directly from the club site - "We can only promise to keep the price down if we get the 2500 fans. If less than 2500 supporters become a member, season ticket prices will revert back to last years early bird price of £175 adults, £95 Concessions and £20 juniors."

| sorry yep what i mean is if they sell lets say 2300 and they ask for another 70 quid per ticket im faced with a £280 bill or a £400 refund a differential of £680 in my pocket and a £680 difference out of WTW, and that's the early bird offer. So whats it gonna be ? that pays for a couple of lap taps and a fair sized turkey .
ermmmmm of course if we sell 2.5K its immaterial as we all smile and collect tickets but i get this feeling that i/we may of just walked into a cauldron of crud.

Exactly. ???
The season tickets are £100 now, but in October they will be £175 if the target is not met.
There is no mention of increasing the price of the tickets already bought, only future tickets if they don't sell 2500 @ £100 this month.
Asking for further payment on tickets already bought would be crazy.

I can see that dilema, but you have to think ahead to what it will cost you to go to games next year, if you haven't taken the offer.
If times are that tough, "you" perhaps will be sacrificing your Sunday out at BV. Watching WTW is a luxury when juggling putting food on the table.
Of course, getting a ticket for £100 puts a much different complexion on things.
