Hmmmm! The kit doesn’t wow me but I don’t dislike it.

Agreed. Very bland for me. Will probably go for the away shirt this year.

Also not a fan of the Hummel “arrows” pointing towards the ars3. Why can’t they be down the sides like football shirts.

Underwhelmed if I’m honest , hope away shirt has a bit more about it . Gunna be some grey looking shirts come back end of the season , will be a mare for parents keeping that looking like new .

Just got home from the unveiling, I like the shirt, very crisp, clean the side stripes gook good, didn’t hear any negative comments from anyone in attendance re the shirt design, only heard one little moan abthe new badge design. I think this shirt will do well, I’ve no doubt some fans will hold back until the away shirt is revealed.

A bit generic for me, the best part of the kit is down the sides. However the first dud home kit for a few years so we’ll see what the away one is like.

It reminds me of a kit we had when JD was here, can’t remember the year.

What do you mean ‘a dud’, it’s clearly not a dud to plenty of others. The fact that you don’t like it doesn’t make it a dud.

I bet MC and JM wonder why they bother when the fans can’t be bothered to promote the club.

If it’s any consolation there have been other strips I’ve liked more but I’d hardly call at a dud.

I've had a Barnsley FC season ticket for 20 years, Donny and I only recall about two clashes with Trinity. I've left Oakwell ar 5ish and got to BV for a 6pm ko. I know Keepmoat is a little further but I shouldn't let it affect buying your season ticket.

No matter what not every body will like the top or any top to that i personally dont like like feel its very bland and boring and as fifita says its not good on the waist line.but granted there are people who will like it and others like me who wont thats just the nature of this kind of thing

Lived in Barnsley since 1971, and started watching them from 1978 when Alan Clarke became the player manager, haven't watched any live game in the last 2 years because of a serious illness and this lockdown stuff, prior to that the only conflict I have ever had was whether to go to Catalans in 2006 or go to the Millenium stadium to watch the Reds play Swansea in the Div 1 play off final, difficult to say really why I chose France As I was a ST at both clubs, lets hope you get to make that decision yourself next season

The shirt is not my cup of tea but, in fairness, only one would be, it would be the old 60's style updated. I would only change the away shirt annually BUT I know and understand why they change them so you're going to get some that don't appeal to everyone.

Well I’ve had a good look now and I quite like it. It’s vert modern and purist, a bit Real Madrid. I think it will grow on folk and I definitely think it will look smart on the players as a team.

Worth noting it’s a sponsors dream, that ASUS logo cannot be missed. Sometimes the shirt sponsors logo gets lost in the design which if I were a sponsor would greatly annoy me.

I like it. Smart, clean, neat & professional. No sponsor clashes, but it depends on what you expect from a shirt. It will look great as a sports kit, especially on TV.
However, as a fashion item, it probably doesn't work as well. The stripes under the arms will hardly be seen and matched with everyday clothes detracts from the design. I guess those who want something more fashionable will buy the away shirt.

I accidently appeared on Soccer AM when Helen was on it and I don't remember her Barnsley accent


We had a chat in the bar after the show (the Torquay game kicked off at midday that day so she couldn't get to the match) and she said her 'love' of rugby league was just because St Helens were named after her, other than that her knowledge was limited - most comments about it were just to wind up co presenter Tim Lovejoy

Andy Kelly was also a Torquay supporter and named his football team the Torquay United Supporters Club l believe.
