Theres something not right bren. Whether they had a spat at wigan ( if they were there together that is ) or something else only god knows, but you dont just let a player like that go when theres not much else about

Mathers is ok when a team is on top if he plays fullback he links well but his 1 to 1 tacking when opponents make a break is poor and he likes himselt too much for my liking but if he signs for us I hope he does well!

From what i've been told Millward doesn't want him but if he wants to replace him then he has to get at least some of his wages off the books, which is why letting him rot isn't in Cas' interest. Won't be quite as high as half the wages paid though, probably part pay off and a lower percentage. IF it happens that is, I think the arguments about it are continuing.

He is. He's just not taking part in the ball work/structural training.

Still training and doing weights etc.

Only training with the guys in rehab I was told, not the main bulk of the squad and as you say, only gym work involved.

What won't be revealed, if Tricky has anything to do with it, is the part of the deal whereby Cas pay 50% of his wages whilst he's in the R,W&B; my source tells me that RW has asked that WTW keep that bit quiet, because he doesn't want Cas fans to know about it - seems he's had enough adverse publicity for the time being since sticking his oar into the NM proceedings.

Pity about Tongia. I suppose he had far too much flair and unpredictability for Agar's liking. Surprised Agar isn't begging Blaymire to have a rethink.

I don't think it was his flair and unpredictability - more his nationality, as JE stated quite clearly in the radio interview.

JE stated that he was happy with Tongia's attacking play 'but as was seen last season he wasn't always doing what we wanted defensively', i.e he was prone to regular cock-ups. Thing is he has admitted an interest in Richie Mathers who, although more experienced is a pea out of the very same pod! So I reckon the overseas factor had a large part to play once Paul Aiton arrived on the scene, there just wasn't space for Tongia.

Should both moves come off it would seem that it was a choice of Aiton & Mathers or Tongia & Obst. I think on balance the club has made the right choice. Still need a prop though!

At least we know now wasn't hard was it. I personnally thought he could have been a great talent for us. James explanation was he wasn't worth a quota spot. Shame. I rate mathers though so be good if we sign him.

I thought Tongia had potential. Ok, he was likely to make a few mistakes but these would be balanced out by his exciting plays. Look at Solomona, he could be a penalty machine and give 2 or 3 penalties away but then could produce 2 or 3 acts of genius in the same game.

I would have liked to have seen him stay on. I liked his creativity and unlike others on this thread I saw some cracking try saving tackles made by him.
