Daryl Millard looks like he can play a bit and would certainly be a great signing for the club. if blanch plays outside him every week, id be backing damo to be top try scorer in the league!!!!

With walker looking set to sign for bulls, for reportedly $150k, which is approx £75k (edited for accuracy - thanks st chunter for info) menzies tied in for another year on big money...it would surprise me if they could fit Daryl Millard in under the salary cap - which strenghens the report that he could be wakefield bound - hopefully so.

I am ashamed, I have just realised that I said that I was excited over a male rugby league player.

$150k is about 75 grand currently. the aussie dollar fluctuates between about 1.9 and 2.7 in my experience

i personally have not got access to the NRL and as such will not wet my pants overs a maybe/if/but signing based on 9 mins of footage.

Lot of merit in what you say. With a bit of time and the footage you could make most players look like world beaters.

Not Millard, as I've not seen him, but why do we, no just Wake field, keep bringing mediocre players over when we're told how great our academy system is!

Take your point and fortunately its not people on this board who decide who we do and don't sign, thats down to the board and Kear. I for one have 100% confidence in Kear but there is nothing wrong in getting excited about possible signings whether they materialise or not. I used to wet my pants every year the "Wally Lewis is Coming" rumour started.

I think there is an element that because someone has an Aussie accent then they are going to be better then indigenous players. Probability would point to that being true as Australia get the top athletics playing for their game where as here we seem to get the cast offs from other sports or big lads playing, instantly limiting numbers.

But as the overseas limit is now down to 6 (baring a few exemptions.) we should see more quality imports (rather then average) complimenting a squad of predominantly British players with a healthy supply of academy products gaining first team experience.

Played for Figi in the world cup.

Our acadamy is good thats why we have so far signed 6 on full time contracts and no doubt we shall be signing more on. However you can't fill team with acadamy players.
