How is Sivo a liability?[/quote:1rfbo9ok]
Watch the superleague highlights from today’s game.
Sivo shoots out leaving his wing completely un defended leading to a try. Very poor defensive read.
Apparently something he was known for in the nrl.
Here’s the clip.

A few posters who watch NRL don’t appear to be surprised.
He was waaaay off his wing though so perhaps was trying to throw a Taufua type hit.
Teams that move the ball will target that. Assuming he isn’t injured long term.

He certainly took the scenic route but to try take a kicker coming in about 20 yards seemed bizarre.

| Watched him a fair bit over the last 5 years. He’s a really exciting player, but that doesn’t make him great. He’s incredibly hard to stop close to the line, pretty good in the air, and can skittle defenders coming out his own end. But he can also come flying in like that, drop the ball cold, and he’s not particularly quick. I’m trying to think of a similar player off the top of my head, but struggling. Konrad Hurrell but on the wing.
Will get crowds excited, and could score 3 against us. Also could hand the game to us on a plate.

Just shows how fragile our great sport is, one injury and that could be you done, hope he recovers soon and gets back on the field.

| That is bad. I was sort of looking forward to seeing him play. He wasn't called the King of Combank for nothing. If you're a winger, you can be excused some lapses if you score enough, and he did. Whatever issues he had that stopped him being a regular at Parramatta in his final season, Brad Arthur was the coach at Parramatta and signed him for Leeds, so he knew what he was getting. I had the impression it was some off-field discipline issues, but was getting banned a few times as well for reckless hits.
He'd have been a good watch though. A shame. I'd have preferred just a one game injury.

| Shame for the guy. Nobody likes to see a player suffer a serious injury. Relocating halfway round the world to suffer an ACL is brutal luck.

Cam Scott done his hamstring, Nikotemo broken his thumb.
Faatili coming over is a timely boost, I guess McMeekin will drop into back row with Stornton and with Hall and Pratt starting in the centres.
Scott was having a decent pre-seaosn too, hopefully it won't be the first of many.

|
I think Leeds will be much improved this year. Signed well and in the areas they struggled.
Probably best time to play them though first game if the season.
I expect t then to be top 4 in 2025.[/quote:2nqizfza]
Sounds like we are already piling up injuries with Scott and niko
Out medium term added to griffin and still no sign of atoni or vagana being fit - so potentially 5 of our starting 17 out before a bslls been kicked

Yeah the pack not looking quite as strong as it did, we're covered at centre. Opportunity for Shaw and Cozza to step up.

| That right edge worries me now.
Probably Hall and Walmesley.
It's not like they are weak but they are not strong either.
Leeds are bound to attack down their left edge.

Walmsley is strong defensively. Barely missed a single tackle last season.
Hall player pretty well in right centre for Cas. There is always Roarke who may throw his hand up.
Pitts or Mckmeeken seem the obvious choice for second row. Faatili may find himself with a shirt in round 1 if the shuffle demands it.
We have good depth though still and even with a few injury’s we have a good 17 out there who can do the job.

| I'm not being negative for the sake of it. I'm just saying where we are weak.
I think you'll find it hard to find a Cas fan who agrees with you about Hall.
Moving McMeekan simply weakens the front row. I'd rather have Pitts or even Croft in SR.

Not the best news to suddenly hear. I thought after the Cas game we'd be looking to go into the season practically full strength.
On the props, It depends on where Faatili is in his preparation and fitness. We have Atoni and Vagana already missing from playing prop/SR, so even if we go with Mike, Rodwell, and Caleb we're still missing someone to fill a spot, it's the reason we brought Faatiti over. If he's not ready we're gonna have to make our minds up whether to bring Shaw in and go with Stourton and Pitts in the back row with Cozza at Loose.
It's about getting our best 17 on the pitch we have at our disposal. As you say, it's either Hall or Rourke for the centre spot, and I'm not sure who I'd go with tbh. Rourke is probably more defensively sound but Hall may be a little better in attack but it's all an opinion.
But at least we can still field a quality lineup even with 6/7 starters out for a change from previous SL years.

| I thought Hall on the whole was pretty solid defensively on Boxing Day.
I remember the outcry when he left the club in that swap deal. He was at that point, probably one of our better players. He's had a fair few critics hasn't he since coming back. You don't turn into a poor player overnight. Give the lad a chance.
Personally, I'd be happy with him starting.
As for the pack, we also have Shaw and Lingard who could also be utilised

I don’t care whether Cas fans agree. I watched a few Cas games back end of season where Hall played right centre and he was one of Cas’s better players and certainly has solid defensively. What Cas fans may say won’t change what I watched.
We have to accept that we may be weakened whomever we move. Pitts moving from 13 weakens us as does Mckmeeken etc. we may have to hope Vagana is fit so he can slot straight into right SR without disrupting the pack too much.
Will be interesting to see how Powell shuffles if needed. Hopefully a couple come back so it makes it easier.
