Really, I've come to the conclusions that player groupies like you are never more happy than when you think you can take the high ground. Usually against folk who are a little more realistic about life and a little less sycophantic. Thats fine but you are not the only Trin fan and others see players in a different light, my point stand that RESPECT and DECENCY cost nothing.

Ewan dowes is not a good prop. You cant criticise what korki has done for the trin he gives his all every match. Hes done a good job for us.

I agree with most of this post but I dont agree thanking players who took us for a ride like Hickey. As for Korki hes gave his all for the mighty Trin sad to see him go but I do understand the reasoning. He is part of the furniture and I shall miss him love his lung busting drives when you get behind him.

His career would have been so much better if someone had taught him how to offload.

He had/has plenty of flaws to his game but then I guess that is why he played for us for so long. I never really got the Korki thing the run at Hull was quality and he chinned that Fev player but other than that I can't remember singing his praises to often. He was/is a steady enough player but if we are to move on then we need better. Cheers for the effort though.

Dowes is a better all round prop than Korkidas, different style yes but has a more consistant game. You don't play the majority of games for a team that makes the top eight and not be a good player.

He's better than the one we've signed and so is his attitude imho.

Good luck to the lad - a grafter who's always put the effort in, even if the effort didn't necessaily yield the desired result.

Bit of a weird one though in terms of his contract, as he's actually a Shudds player, so we haven't released him in the traditional sense; his loan period has expired and his home club have chosen not to re-sign him.

Sure he'll do well at Keighley - some of these part time lads are going to have their commitment tested next season, when they find themselves standing in front of a rampaging Nick Fozzard or Michael Korkidas.

I've listed to a few radio interviews with the guy, and have heard things about him from people who know him, and he comes across as a decent bloke to me.

In the early part of last year i think without Korki & Morro, we wouldnt have got close to winning a game. You looked at the 2 sides when warming up and without them our pack could have come straight out of the academy in terms of physicality. If you speak to PJ, Frankie, Howarth, Amor etc they will all have nothing but good things to say about Korki. No, i dont think he should have been given a new contract and during his time with us he has been up and down with regards to level of performance, but i dont think he could ever be accused of lacking in effort.

I just dont get some folk?? Anyone who has pulled on the shirt, especially last year (barring Hickey) and put his body on the line partly for my entertainment deserves a thanks. It doesnt mean i hero worship them, it doesnt in all cases mean that i rate them as a player but it does mean i appreciate there efforts.

All this criticism could be premature - it's Monday morning, what's to say the club won't release something this week about Korki's departure?

Sometimes, the rumour mill overtakes the official news - with 3 clubs, an agent and a player involved, I guess it's not as straightforward as it seems; when they've sorted all that out, I'm sure there'll be some acknowledgement of his contribution.

Im sure the players contracts run until either the 1st or 30th November. Id expect to read the thanks for all your efforts posts from the club at that time. As it stands, they will still be contracted and the club will still be paying them.

I've posted this before but will repeat for this thread.

Korki has been great for Wakefield. I have never felt he has given less than 100%, whether his performances have been what people expected. Some people have been irritated by the elbows and knees myth but for me he has always done the hard work when needed and if other teams have ever dominated him it is simply because they targeted him as the only forward who needed to be focussed on.
Thanks for the memories Korki. Hope you and JD are successful and certainly happy in your new venture.
I know there will be a lot more bruised bodies in that division next year.

I simply expressed my opinion. This is the second time I have been unfairly treated IMO for expressing an opinion that seems to go against that of what I can only describe as a click of fans who have their favourite and thus untouchable players. At no point have I name called or in any way abused these players, no silly name calling like Blaydire!

I accept the need to be civil about players, with the exception of Hickey I have rarely picked on an individual player. However despite the fact that posters like wildowl like to make it personal I can't see how a considered opinion is either lacking respect or decency.

It's very simple, I don't and never have rated Korki. He's had his moments, especially when he first rejoined us but over all IMHO he is one of those Australians who has had a great career based on little more talent than many English players who didn't even get the chance. I'm sure he is a lovely man but that's not what SL is about and it never was. This being the case I'm willing to wish him all the best but I will reserve the right not to thank him.

None of what I'm about to say is aimed at you or anyone in particular on here apart from one who knows who he is..

If the above makes me a bad person so be it. In the last few weeks nay years I've been accused of amongst other things ripping the club off, using it as a tax dodge, being in SWAG to make me feel more important and get into games for free and much more, oh and being physically threatened at a match in 2008 - so maybe I am.

One thing is for certain no one has ever said thanks to me not that I ever expected it, why should I - I admit I talk my mind to much for that. That said I will never ever expected the recent abuse I have endured. Due to this I will never offer my help which in monetary terms and time has been considerable in the past to any of the supporters groups ever again. It's not the clubs fault or by and large the fault of those who run the various groups, it's simply the fact that you eventually get sick of being judged and abused by people who think that turning up at the occasional meeting and sinking 6 pints and being chummy with the odd player gives them the right to have a go. There cannot be a set of fans in the world more adept at isolating and discouraging those offering real support.

So maybe I'm being a little bit precious and self pitying as I'm sure some will point out and a wee bit harsh on Korki but I'm really not in a thankful frame of mind. At the moment I just feel I've wasted the last 8 years of my life attempting to help build a club for a bunch of people who frankly don't deserve it.

I won't bother posting much on here anymore which will please a fair few. Losing Vastman's regular input may not be much of a loss even I can see that. However losing the active support of the real person though hardly critical is surely something the club can't yet afford and I know I'm far from the only one to pack it up and call it a day. So maybe I do feel for Korki, I've experienced very similar to what you suggest he is feeling though in my case it didn't cost nothing.
