On another note, were we supposed to receive membership cards for it?'"
Membership cards are available for collection from the club shop. I personally think they should have been sent by post but if you go into the shop they let you have your card shosing name, number and of course your four chosen numbers.

| As far as the scheme goes, you can view "no winners" as a good thing, because is simply increases the funds going into the club.
Although we would all like to win, this isnt really the point of the scheme.

People can criticise but my point is that 1873 has the potential to be great, to not receive one e-mail in three months is not great, to have no winners above £20 in three months is not great. You need publicity and promotion to keep this thrng rolling otherwise its just another variety of squadbuilder and how many members did that have...'"
never said it was a charity....it wont sell to anyone that isn't interested about Trinity or seeing rugby grow in Wakefield so no I don't even see the potential for it to be greater like you said.... this scheme is about helping out at the lower level, the youth that is coming through.....why should you need an email the club puts on their website weekly and I was told will contact you if you win, prizes of £20 just about pays for the quarterly payment

| Think the draw should be published at least in the WE. My Mum, who is 82, joined and has asked where the results are published. She has never been near a computer and we need to remember that not everyone has access to the internet

I think they should just give everyone a membership number and draw one per week, at least someone always wins then.'"
by that method you don't get the chance of winning

Spot on and why people can't see that I don't know. Those who talk of it spreading further than Trin fans are deluded we struggle to get fans to sign up to stuff so getting non fans is a non starter. In general the people of Wakefield will be happy to join in if it's free, you get something back and you have to make little to no effort at all.

Mr. Glover had a choice to buy the club, did he buy it purely for philanthropic reasons? Mr. Glover also has much deeper pockets than many on here do I suspect too! His choice to buy the club, and the same choice of supporters to either back Club 1873 or not.

| As far as I know, the club has a 'lottery manager' to oversee and administer Club 1873. I don't know if that's a FT position nor do I know anything about the postholder, but it does seem that there are a number of perceived improvements that could be made to the way the scheme is run - hopefully, those people who have concerns are passing them on, so that individual can at least be made aware of them?

Do you realise where the club was when Mr Glover took over. "on the bloody brink" And you have the ordacity to say it was his choice lathergically you people have short memories . Hes done a very good job. The guy is going to improve belle vue for just 3 years out of his own pocket. People come on here and say we dont have a chance of winning lotto at £2 per week 4 out of 31 numbers thats all its pure luck. There is no hidden agenda or some kind of con going on. What do you want him to do in 12month we have kept our licence thanks to him and others organising steadying the ship what more do you want him to do lol in 9month since he took us over????

I do know where we were, I'm not stupid. It was his choice to buy the club, it's his choice to have one man by his side making decisions, it's his choice not to sell shares in the club and have the burden all on him.
He's done a stabilising job in a short period of time. Nothing other than cosmetic has been done to date, the real decisions he has to make are just around the corner. (And I'll believe the real improvements to Belle Vue, much like Newmarket, when I see it!)
There are a combination of factors leading to us keeping the licence, and it's not just down to Glover and Elston, that is obvious.
We need to question every decision made by the club. Not doing so led, in part, to where we were this time last year.

I derive simple and childish pleasure from the 'nonsense' poetry of people such as Edward Lear and the incomparable Spike Milligan.

For Trinity fans the 1873 is a win/win.
£2 a week is less than the price of a pint. There is chance of winning a couple of grand and if not donate to the club.
More chance of winning the 1873 than the national lottery, but granted the prize is smaller, although for 4 numbers on the national lottery you'd only get 60 or 80 quid.

| here's my take on how the 1873 can be improved...
at the moment we have (who is in the draw) all chosen 4 numbers that is in effect like the national lottery, this has rolled on from the start building to a whopping £2500 nothing to be sniffed at as a small local club prize... that alone is now making heads turn
As and when the season ticket / Gold membership starts to increase greatly it could then generate its own number which can be used on a weekly basis drawing a prize of say £500 and doubling to £1000 if your at the game home or away (say traveling with the Wakefield Trinity Supporters Trust Bus) through out the season, this could boost attendances just for the thought of doubling
it would be around 30 plus weeks and also to finish the season off have a final £5000 as incentive if you have been paying all year.
to do this it would have the support of the fans to reach the 2500k gold membership and this would then generate £5000 weekly so other prizes could be added.
even hospitality, gifts from the club shop
what it needs is a massive boost from the Wakefield public that cares about the Club
Just a thought of how I think it could take the raw edge off what some think as a collection bucket fund

| What about a members draw once a week or fortnight. Say for a new season shirt or a shop voucher?? Perhaps a monthly draw for a meal like the one offered at the launch night my mate won. He said it was great. How about one member gets to award the mom at the next home game. There's quite a lot of same cheap things us fans would love.
