The thing is PB, now that the club have gone into legal mode, there will probably be no denial, and if MC is on holiday, the timing is well constructed by WMDC to suck up maximum publicity and gain the media advantage.
Seems one step too far for me and can only hope we stay strong for retaliation.

I'm afraid I am guilty of optimism, as I assume that other people deal with things in the way I'd like to deal with things. The press release is a clear blame game but I think it spells the end. Slugger we must all buy a season ticket now to show support to MC. More important that ever. Imagine if you were MC, note how frustrated we feel and x by ten. The last thing MC needs is fans turning their backs on the club.

Although risking a hots of abuse, what are MC and CB expecting from a new build / massively improved BV ?
Are they expecting that Trinity should be able to play there for "free", paying little rent and if so, in terms of the deal, how does this stack up with any other SL clubs ?
Surely a shiny new (or re-vamped) ground would heavily reduce and costs of up keep and attract more fans through the turnstiles, which "could" pay for any "rental" costs ?
I know these deals are complicated but, could Sandal or IA tell us what "we" are expecting, against WMDC's new position of Trinity paying a commercial rent.

I don't believe Walker wants the club to disappear. I just think he wants to make money from whatever scheme materialises.

Agreed, i think he would stand to make just as much money with the club being there as it not being so i doubt he wants it dead. He probably just wants a piece of the pie, be that monetary, controlling or a bit of both.

There’s a few on this thread against various people involved, i wouldn’t let it worry you. Nobody believes anything anybody says anymore anyway.

As suspected. I thought the timing was rather odd, the council going to the press just as you were going on holiday.

Having read the post of IA on the press release and a couple of phone calls I am certain Walker is actively involved. Why he needs this at his age and alleged financial wealth we can only speculate right now. My best shot at the moment is this.
Walker realises whoever controls the stadium controls the club playing there. By being in full control as the chairmen of the shadow trust waiting to take over, he will eventually have that power. This will give him a nice financial pay back plus the kudos, these are his life blood. He also believes once he has established himself then removing MC and CB will not be that difficult. I am also convinced he has friends and contacts in place who are more than willing to run the club.
Box I still believe wants the club to die, however he knows Walkers plan and sees it as the next best thing.

We don't need to say anything at this stage. We work very closely with the Club and are together on this and will be taking legal advice together.

Coco, as far as I understand the Cas ground, it's private investors funding it, no public money involved, and Cas haven't had to inject any money into the build.

I believe Cas paid a six-figure sum for all the stadium design and planning permission for their stadium, whilst the council funded the Newmarket scheme.

I was referring to the first part really, as the second part makes no sense. I'm still of the understanding that it would be a community stadium owned/run by a charitable trust under similar conditions to the proposed Newmarket development. Also, I thought the council were facilitating a loan rather than using any taxpayers' money and the proposed £2M was investment in ancillary community sports facilities.

Where have you seen that ? Is it being confused with the first Glasshoughton stadium on the Stadium Business Park land by the station.
