| As I understand it, from what I've been told, Nathan Brown is not that stuck on Faiumu neither is he overly impressed with Robinson as a scrum half. He see's Robinson as an interchange hooker with Lunt which would then leave the Giants needing a scrum half.
Brown is particularly impressed by Broughy and has made him his prime target for over a year.
Danny will get more than he's been offered at Trinity and Uncle Ken will sort all of his off field issues out and by that I don't just mean funds. He, or his staff, will act as Danny's appointee in any and all dealings with anyone who has issues with Broughy thereby lifting a huge weight from DBs shoulders.
If Danny has decided to go then I wish him good luck and a great career with Huddersfield even though I'll be bitterly disappointed to see him leave. I think it's a strange decision by Danny as I'm pretty sure that whatever Hudds can offer, in terms of support, I'm sure we could do the same.
He has found a place at Wakefield where he is secure and settled enough to play some of his best football and he risks that by moving to any other club. Nathan Brown strikes me as a coach who requires total control and an almost OCD like need of order. Danny may soon find his volatile nature and maverick personality soon puts him at odds with his head coach.
Whatever happens I still think Broughy is the best English halfback we have and I hope he goes on to represent England.

Brough released early from Wakefield for some wonga and a couple of players.(with Fart Own 'underwriting' their wages). Any money saved plus any money saved on Turry's wages goes to signing Brett Finch who gets an early release from his NRL contract and comes over in time for the Salford game.
And despite all this Marsden Giant will be saying that we only sold Brough to pay back money owed to the local milkman who had threatened us with a winding up order.

You can't sign Finch. Your quota is full, apparently.

You are not getting Griffin - same as above re weight.
I doubt you are getting cash. We don't pay fees.'"
If Brough is on his way to Hudds as one or two on here who have connections with the club have said, then that is good enough for me. On the other hand we had the Hudds fans denying this, who now for some reason now appear to accept this with one small doubt and that is they dont pay fees. Not knowing anything about their club I am prepared to accept that, but one thing puzzles me, if Broughy is going and I am sure he is, and Hudds dont pay fees then are the Wakey board giving you him as a good will gesture even though weeks/months of team prep by Kear has gone down the pan by losing Newton and now GIVING you Brough mid season for free

| League Express covers the Cooke and Brough transfers.
Ted Richardson has confirmed that both deals will go ahead this week if they are to Trinity’s benefit. The two deals are not dependant upon each other. Ted wouldn’t reveal the size of the transfer fee Trinity would be seeking from Huddersfield.

Of course it is, in no way has any money received in transfers fee's gone into improving the squad and ensuring the club remain's in business. It's all gone on M&S suits or building projects.

Whilst it's frustrating at times, i find it very naive you believe Ted would pocket whatever fee we'll receive. More likely is the money will go towards servicing debts, might well go towards the new stadium or be invested in youth players or to retain current players.
We've all been here before with Ellis, Atkins etc and we've always come through it a better team.

| I’d be very disappointed if we sold DB at this stage of the season. It would have to be one hell of a deal to justify selling arguably your best player and chief play maker to a rival team after 6 games of a new season.

Would the coach really consider them to be a rival team other than geographically? - they are challenging for top 3 places, we are realistically challenging for 5-8 position. I think that a coach would consider those places in terms of rivalry more than Hudds/Wigan and poss Wire this year who all seem to have upped their game tremendously and challenging for top few slots.

At the start of the season we set a budget out to spend on playing personnel. If Brough is not replaced we have reduced that budget in a big way. What has happened financially since the off season to the club that stops us sticking to our original budget?
Brough imo is the best play maker in the league, it's a big hole to replace. If were not getting a player swop it's going to cause us problems. Without him we are weaker, that we have to accept. This will be reflected over the rest of the season in lost potential League points. I would go as far as to say if this deal woks the way I fear it could cost us the play offs. .
