Perhaps the whole Wakefield Council debacle over the last twenty-one years would have made the national news in the way Donnygate did, wakeytrin, if we'd have had a local newspaper with some guts rather than the sycophantic rag that poses as the "Box can do no wrong", Wakefield Express. A so-called "local" newspaper that is produced and printed in Sheffield. I think their Trinity news is gleaned from information posted on this forum.

Who knows, but this could be the good news Trinity fans were told to expect on the ground front a month back! Joking aside, a real stumbling block out is out of the way now, let's see what the new person brings.

If I recall Jeffries was always sympathetic to our stadium but when push came to shove was far to gutless to stand up to Box.

If she does take over the reigns do you reckon she might offer us a bit more? I’m not talking NM as that’s dead in the water but something better than we currently have?

Without going into a long list of reasons, my opinion is that she will also be standing down very quickly.

I have not the slightest idea who might take over either as I don't think there is that much talent in the council. One thing Box did to stifle all opposition was to make sure no one came on to the council who could ever threaten his position.

However I will say this, Box was very good at stringing us all along and we all thought that eventually we may get something out of all this, when in fact it should now be obvious that there was no intention to do that. I really believe that Yorkcourt will not be contributing a penny and the club will soon be back to where it was 20 years ago in that it will own a crappy ground and have a massive debt to service. This last 20 years has been a sham.

No our present management are great. But they are not supermen or magicians, they will not see a penny from Yorkcourt.
I have no idea where they will get the money from to pay back the ground loan or in fact start the development.

Fair enough, it's obviously crossed my mind where the money is coming from, but I just can't see MC and co getting us into unmanageable debt.
As for Yorkcourt, they've managed something Houdini would have been proud of, albeit with assistance it seems.

As for the current deputy, she has always made her way on other b*ggers efforts! Incapable of making a coherent speech.

You are way more knowledgeable on these things than humble supporters like me but, surely, the rent that was payable previously would be enough to service the loan ?
As for any funding to rebuild the ground, I've absolutely no idea but, the very fact that this is being spoken about, has to be a good thing and at least, while we are in SL and while we are allowed to continue playing in a "sub standard" ground, at least we have some level of control ?

Whilst Box has moved on to now spread his despotic ways over all Yorkshire rather than just Wakefield, I'm afraid it's gonna be a long time before the Box "effect" disappears from WMDC. Surely after the whole Verity affair re finance and bullying, the selection committee at Welcome to Yorkshire should have been aware of Box's reputation, and known better than to appoint him.

Yes she is, she used to live in the thornes area but looked like loosing her seat ! So she moved to Cas area & bingo, if a donkey put up as Labour it would be voted in, enough said so put on the tin hat, button down the hatches, get set for a bumpy ride, she was the councilor who spoke out against us !

Just had a bit of a browse of "Welcome To Yorkshire" accounts. Seems the senior director which I assume to be chair, received a years salary or payments of £240,000 plus and pension benefits! Why would anyone leave a juicy councillors income for a meagre salary like that???
