After seeing Widnes v Saints I think Widnes are a pretty decent side and got the rough end of a few decisions which could have made it a more interesting game.

If I had to say who was the more difficult team to beat out of Huddersfield and Widnes I would say Widnes are a better side. On that basis I think we should throw everything to try to beat Huddersfield in Newcastle.

Widnes look a good side move the ball a lot better than us .Saying that does not every body

For me our season starts today, we need to make up for last weeks disaster for all the reasons pop tart says with a strong win over hudds

widnes are an average side if that, they played just above average yesterday. The sky team seem intent in bulling Widnes up and do so a regular basis. For wakey at the moments its all about 2 points and setting your stall out to get them from certain teams. Last week didn't matter regarding points but we let our selves down against Salford another below average team.
if our squad of players are not capable of beating Widnes, Huddersfielc , Cats, and springing a surprise against any of the top 8 then we are below an average side.
We should have the fire power and speed to win games with our present squad . our pack lacks grunt and need to put a full shift in .

Completing sets and looking after the ball will be hugely important today and let our pack take some juice out of Huddersfield and for me, unless we are attacking in their 20, get the ball out of play and set the defensive line.

I'd keep Hampshire at fullback but I've defended Finn for a while but we need to replace him.
MCB isn't going to keep his place there. I think TJ would have done better today.

Why is Johnstone dropped?

I have been a defender of Finn but too many poor last tackle options, too slow and weak in defence and not creating much.

He should be leading the last tackle plays and stopping us getting caught in possession.

Final point Chester has to be kidding with that post match interview. I am not in the get him out camp but if he doesn’t see anything wrong how on earth are the players going to improve

I'm not at the Chester out stage, but I will be if we lose to Widnes next week, which is a real possibility.

Last tackle options today were extremely poor.

We are a shambles of a team . No cohesion , not helped by umpteen changes all the time . Imo Jowitt is streets ahead of Hampshire at fullback and needs to be given fair chance . Finn is just not doing anything .. including goal kicks so give Hampshire a fair run in his place too We look slow , unorganised and devoid of ideas .

Had Brough been playing for us we would have won that game as he ran the show for them whereas no one did for us

That just wasn’t good enough. We are so pedestrian it is untrue and the out the back move has been found out. Time for Finn to hang the boots up i’m afraid, he just isn’t up the the pace of superleague anymore.

I have to agree regarding us being pedestrian. Passing too slow, no one running from deep at hitting the ball at pace. Defensive line static and last tackle nothing kicks (that’s if we actually get to the last tackle and get a kick away as opposed to being tackled in possession). Worrying thing is they teach you most of this at U11 level so why professionals can’t do it is beyond me
