| Think he could make the F B spot his own. Just the rest of the positions to sort out now.

| Said yesterday morning that I hoped Owen would be FB, and was delighted with his MoM performance.
I think we safely say we now have that position covered.
Hall can go do one for me. I have rarely seen such a soft player at Wakefield. I'm sorry if that's not PC, and if he wants to come and prove me wrong, then I'll be happy to apologise, but not based on what I've seen to date!

| Halls a strange one for me. He tends to go missing and I don't think he's made a position his own at any club. With the bench now consisting of pack members just what's his position. I note he's listed as a utility player,.I have no idea of his best position and on the form he's shown I don't think he does. He's never been a player to stand out for me and out of all his games against us the try he scored for hull fc while playing in the centre I think is the only game that springs to mind.

In an interview yesterday, RO said that his preferred position was full-back.

| Agree with what has been said about Hall. I would also add that he has the demeanour of someone who doesn't want to be here, his body language is atrocious, as are his flimsy attempts to affect tackles and his ability to fluff what looks like a definite try scoring opportunity like the one at HKR where he only had to run straight and he was over.
Riley is a serious concern for me, he cost us at least 2 if not 3 tries by shooting in off his wing yesterday - can Max Jowitt play on the wing?

| It's been a long time since we've had a Fullback display as good as Owen's yesterday. I'd love to see that bundle in to touch where he got penalised for head high again.
Any chance he could cover Fullback and Left Wing simultaneously?

The Widnes winger to no part in any plays in that 1st quarter. He just stood right up against the touch line and waited for long, cut out passes that gave him walk in scores. On the other wing at least two attempts to do similar were spotted by Collis and Johnstone resulting in interceptions.

I would give him a game there then - I actually wanted him to have a shot at full back with Halls poor performances, but Owen was so good yesterday he should be FB for me.

At centre he was probably positioned nearer than Riley to the touch line already!

I'm glad you have reminded me of that 'bundle into touch'.
What is the job/jurisdiction of the 'in-goal' official, does his remit cover foul play in the in field area? The touch judge put his flag up for the player being in touch and then the referee went to the in goal official and then awarded a penalty against RO.
Also anyone have a better view of the kick off that was deemed to be straight in touch when the Widnes player caught it?
Our players were very unhappy with the decision.
Apparently MC was a little unhappy with the officials at the end of the game.

The bundle into touch was annoying because the touch judge was right there and didn't see a problem with it. They scored off the resulting set from the penalty as well.
The kick off one I thought he looked like he stepped back from the field of play and put his foot in touch but wasn't near enough to be sure.

He did catch the ball then slid his foot onto the line, even he was suprised when Ray Charles said it had gone out on the full

This is a bit harsh on Riley, four times in the first half Widnes Went to their right and our defence did not slide with them leaving a massive overlap each time. He really has no option but to try and take the man with the ball.

| We all saw the weakness on our left side but nothing was done to strengthen it so Widnes just kept going back. This is something the coach should have seen and adjusted. This error plus others would have occurred under Webster hence we need a complete change.

Would like to see all that sequence of play again, even the play the ball they scored off looked decidedly dodgy.
Although I don't think the result would have been any different, I thought Silverwood had a shocker.

| Good to see Owen have what must be one of his better performances for us but Cas up next and if they don't know his weaker areas nobody does.

| Nothing dodgy with the play the ball he simply didn't play the ball at all as for that Owen tackle Silverwood didn't see it nor the 5 yard forward pass that came just before.

First good game, where have you been all season.
Apart from McShane and Anderson (when he's played), Owen has been one of our few decent players.
Today he was superb !
Although he dropped on high ball, his effort and commitment were fantastic.
I cant remember the last time I saw a full back in a Trinity shirt scythe downd an opposition player that had broken the line and he was unlucky to be penalised when taking the Widnes player, ball and all, into touch later on in the second half.
Him and Godinet were stand outs today.

That he's playing well and trying his nut's off.
He's been solid all season (although the dropped ball against Wigan was a howler), the guy looks lethargic but actually isn't
although my mum would say that he should pull his shorts up !

Better to measure him against the opposition then and on Sunday he handled the majority of what Widnes had to offer one on one. In recent games many of our opponents have found him difficult to put down when running the ball out.

As you know I rarely get it wrong with players
However I feel very cheated by Hall and admit I got that one totally wrong. Pre season and in the first 2 games he looked great and was shaping up as the best attacking FB since Andrew Leeds IMHO. Anyone who says they thought otherwise at this point is fibbing. However the performances since then would have embarrassed your average Pennine League FB. Turning circle of a supertanker, tackling by the Lion from the Wizard of Oz and decision making akin to Ed Milliband.
Shocking player at the moment.
