As for baily, I dare say that if burgess has being fit he wouldnt have being picked, however as much as i dislike baily, he has got size and he might be in there to niggle the hell out of the opposition, i'm not convinced that he'll be able to stand up to players that are as big as him though

Tbh I'd have him in, but just out of principal, he chose to represent Scotland so that should be the end of it.

The chase thing is a joke, but to choose a player that has already chosen and represented another country (which chase hasn't) is equally as bad.
Unfortunately representative sport is littered with "alien" players.

I was neither celebrating or moaning to be honest - cricket is a matter of supreme indifference to me; it's got to be the dullest sport on the planet! I can't get into a game that takes 4 days to play, then can de declared a draw because it starts raining.

The only good thing about cricket in my view is that they stop for a cup of tea - can't beat a cuppa.

Chase is a out and out Kiwi and played for maori not so long back. Its not right at all.

Dont think it really matters ... after watching the test this morning Australia look back to their imposing best.

England could select a number on non english players and still wouldnt have the quality or strength in depth the Aussies and maybe kiwis have. Especially in the core / pivot positions

totally agree on the brough comment, seems we'll have to wait untill next year now to see if he can perform for england, his kicking game will defo be missed. macnamara obviously doesnt like brough, if i recall, he has registered from England before, then not being picked and ended up playing for scotland again, its am very odd carry on

Its only a few years since we switched from GB to england, there would be no difference in the results even if we were GB, splitting the home nations is a must if we are to push the international game forward

I think the international game lost all creditability long before Chase was selected. Whilst I still think he is the best scrum half in Super League, I believe Brough forfeited his right to play for England when he turned out for Scotland.

The problem for me now is that we have no going back. If the put in some top performances, picking the likes of Chase will be seen as a master stroke, and more Aussies and Kiwis will be encouraged to check their family trees. And if we take a spanking then I can only see more desperation creeping and McNamara and the others will look for a short term fix and the end result will be more foreigners playing for England.

As for internationals, I still think the only way to get the public's imagination is to revert back to Great Britain (and British players) and play the 3 match series against both Australia and New Zealand. I certianly won't be going to a Four Nations game.
