Just to add my cheers for Luke today. Tackled like a man posessed and the the ones he made from marker showed what a combination of power and speed can do. At times with the ball he was making as many yards in the tackle as many a top forward. His wasn't the only great performance today but I'm sure at times his lifted the team and made tired bodies work even harder.

Unlike most i will reserve judgement on George,yes he had a good game and deservedly got into MOM 123,but lets see if he backs this performance up in the next game,he has so far been very inconsistant at best this season with more bad games than good,he has the potential but i wont get carried away over 1 game.

I think the bagging refers to his positioning when he is on the wing in defence... he stands where a centre should be... so putting him at centre is no change for him !!!

but did well today both in defence and running strong with ball....its like kear said they now have to back it up

Agree about Murph never seems to me to have a bad game, had he gone to shudds would now be around the England team (see Cudjoe ).
Today for the first time ages we looked strong in the centres which is Georges proper position.

Thought we played the conditions really well and thoroughly deserved the win.

I'm a pretty poor excuse of a stay away fan. Kinda felt it was a sure thing today for some reason.
Anyway without delving off topic too far, 5 wakey players ran out of their way to pat Luke on the back for his stint. Great to see. You occasionally see it for last ditch tackles or dislodging hits but just outgoing praise for effort was probably the highlight of the match for me.

Absolutely awesome today. He was BY FAR my Man of the match, even though Moore and Tony were outstanding aswell. Top effort Lukey, keep it up next week, and the week after, and forever (whilst in a Wakey shirt).

I have given him some grief for making some errors but fair play had a top game today and should have been motm.

Disagree there. When fit, George has had a good season so far at centre. Way way better than previous years. Another notch up today though. Deffo MotM for me.

Agree with Luke being motm thought he was awesome today.also think forwards worked their socks off.on the down side thought the large linesman on the east stand side in second half was a joke and seemed to do al he could to make us lose the game.also was it the right decision to give drop out against us when they kicked a penalty straight touch in goal?

Nail on the head. It isn't that he cannot tackle it's just he has a habit of standing too tight look at the Saints try we conceded straight from a scrum.

George had a superb game today - scored our only try and tackled his backside off; can't ask much more than that.

I agree. I have been a George fans for yonks and really could not understand the stick he has received as I don't think this is his first MOM performance though I do think it's his best of the season.

For me he is the most natural talent we have at the club and it now looks as though he has realised that - faultless performance.

It was the right decision - any penalty kick that goes dead, whether it's a goal attempt or any other kick, restarts with a 22m drop out.
You're right about the "large linesman". I know that, in the heat of the moment, fans often think that officials have got it wrong then see it on the replay and realise that it was the right decision but I was stood on the East paddock and there wre two incidents that sent me in to total apoplexy. For both incidents our players were claiming the opposite to the linesman's/ref's decision but, to their credit they accepted and didn't get rattled. Great team performance. Luke George definitely MotM for me. Only regret is that we arrived five minutes late and missed his try!

On a slightly different note - are all the "moaners" from Wednesday feeling a bit better today? Don't get me wrong - I have some sympathy for those who were "locked out" and kept waiting but surely you must see that this has been one of the best weeks in our recent history (and not so recent - the best week since about 1967 probably!!!)

I thought the worst decision came right at the end. Somebody put a good hit on Robinson and knocked him back a couple of yards. Robinson spilled the ball at least a yard in front of him as he went down. Ref and linesman waved play on! Shudds then broke away for that last set that ended with the forward pass but it could have easily cost us the game. Did anyone see this any different? Who made the tackle?

That was absolutely scandalous.

It was a huge knock on. I could just see Shudds going the full length after that and undeservedly pinching the win.

Think it was Frankie with the tackle. For me Morton also had his best game in a trin shirt. Didn't manage to get on the score sheet but tackled well and took the ball up like a forward.
