Well if he does go you can console yourself with the thought that if he did stay with us Agar would have had him either crippled or burnt out within a year!

It would be a step backward, but if his heads been turned then what can we do realistically?

Not much now. We can hope that he will want to stay and carry on playing regularly instead of going to a "big" club and going back to making the occasional appearance. However, if he has the confidence in his ability (and why wouldn't he?) then he may just think he can force his way into whatever team he goes to.

Perhaps he should have been offered a contract before the anti-tampering deadline!


I hope this is all speculation and that we do see him here long term, but you wouldn't blame him for looking elsewhere if we haven't yet made him a reasonable offer.
