| A forum like this is never the best way to get customer feedback. Ask for people to phone, write, email in, but,a s was proven by McNally and Rogerson, you can't do it on a forum unless you have a very thick skin.

| This isn't an easy subject. We've been fortunate enough that BV hasn't been segregated whilst other stadiums have adapted, modernised or built new stadia which make it much easier to divide fans.
Soon we will be in Newmarket, we will have new surroundings, new views, facilities and of course atmosphere. We won't be able to integrate with away fans like we've previously been lucky enough to do so at BV. I've grown to love the west terrace, and as yet I'm underwhelmed by the North stand but given time I'm sure I'll come to love wherever I stand.
The club are in an unfortunate position of having to enforce segregation. As Davide has kindly eluded to, this was not the clubs wishes, but their arm has been forced by numerous complaints and issues. Lets not point the finger and rather make the best of it before we move to NM. It is not the clubs fault people cannot behave themselves which is the underlying problem. Maybe in future we as fans should also report these idiots to stewards.
Here's to complaining about NM

They walk the short distance to the plentiful amount of toilets based under the stand they are sat in, not walk all the way across a packed terracing up some steps and join a mile long queue as they are the only bogs availabe in the ground! Anyway they are opening them so thats that problem solved.
I suggest you try seeing other peoples point of view now and again. Its understandabke why the club needs to do this but it has to be done correctly. It wasn't really. You would have thought that something so important that impacted many fans wouldn't have slipped their mind.

| Quote ="Davide Longo"I would say around 12 emails received in total.............we don't want any fans to leave the club but equally we can't run the risk of a 20K fine by the RFL'"
On the basis that typically only 10% of people who are aggrieved by any particular issue will actually take complaints forward then the £20k may well already have been lost. The 12 e-mails already take things past the 10% mark. Once the policy is fully publicised on the club website, I'm sure that there will be more complaints.
£20,000 potential fine divided by £20 per ticket = 1,000 tickets
1,000 tickets averaged over the nine matches where this rule will be enforced = 112 fans (ok, 111.1 but you can't buy 0.1 of a ticket).
Add this to the knock-on effect of lower merchandising & food/beverage income then the financial risk of incurring a £20k fine could already have been outweighed by lost income.
While it's obviously preferable that no fine should be incurred, I suspect that there would actually be far less complaints (and fans voting with their feet) if the policy was implemented after a fine had been incurred.
I guess I'll just have to hope that the last game at BV is against Salford, Widnes, London or Catalans!!!

Not really sure you've helped either the fans who have concerns or the club who are trying to address them by doing this.

That's your opinion, and it's so far wide of the mark and completely patronising that you could probably get a job in customer care with the club.

I could easily argue that we will recoup the lost fans by having a safe and atmospheric stadium, but it would be pure speculation, just like your post.

| Not really in favour in our style of segregation as I like to change ends at half time.
Don't think it would be too difficult to continue using the western terrace provided I don't turn up in club colours and keep myself from getting too excited.

The debate was real..!! what I ment by bites was I only see things my way debate, I will not move, go to toilet or eat food unless it is right next to me people threatening not buy seasons tickets if they do not get their own way rather childish I would say
Ok the toilets in West Stand and Food outlets will be open to home fans so thats that one solved, many fans have moved to North stand that didn't like the idea but have done it for the good of the club and a lot have said they enjoy it, but others dont so why not go East Stand in stead...
I will be glad when Newmarket is built it will hope fully the moaning will stop but then again we are talking about Wildcats fans...

I'm not suggesting that at all, but looking at things realistically the suspended fine ( www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/rugby-league/19832472) covers this season only and is actually only for £1,000.
One of Davide's posts referred to the risk of a £20k fine and it seems to me that there would need to be a significant escalation in crowd troubles to reasonably justify a twenty-fold increase for any further crowd troubles.........although I do appreciate that the RFL do have a reputation of making decisions that are not based on consistency or common sense!!!
Quote ="TrinityIHC"I could easily argue that we will recoup the lost fans by having a safe and atmospheric stadium, but it would be pure speculation, just like your post.'"
I agree that the figures I used are based on broad assumptions, but your counter argument suggests that there is actually a substantial number of potential fans who already consider BV to be unsafe and/or lacking atmosphere. IMO I think that the number of those potential fans would be outweighed by the number of fans who would choose not to attend if the West Terrace is not available for home fans.
Ultimately, the issue here is one of poor communication from the club. This was clearly a decision taken over the off-season, but for whatever reason the initial announcement was not made until Feb 1st. Other posters have already suggested that this would have (negatively) influenced their decision to buy season tickets had it been announced at an earlier stage.
The cynical perspective is that the club knew that this would be something that would not go down well with a number of fans (after all, a good number of us are stuck-in-our-ways Yorkshire folk ), but chose the timing of communication with the fans to be one that would have the lowest impact on season ticket income.

We are getting some very good crowds, and I say the Northstand Atmosphere is a factor..

| The north stand is not in my opinion a great place to view the game, some prefer standing at the end, some do not. For those that like to stand along the touchline without the sun in their face and actually see all corners of the ground then the western terrace is in my opinion the best place to do so.
Some people seem to be suggesting that it is all fans inherent duty to stand together in the north stand, and that the atmosphere generated there is somehow something special. The truth is that the noise generated there can barely be heard in other parts of the ground, wheras when the terraces are packed in the west and east standing areas this offers far more atmospheric value to the ground as a whole and support for the team. All that is of course subjective and broadly irrelevant to what is being discussed however.
The club have made a decision that they claim is because they're looking down the barrel of a £20k fine, something in itself is a matter of debate. The communication has been as ever amateurish, and at times on this very thread provocative and blunt. The main issue for me is that the group I have stood with pretty much my entire life on the west terrace now cannot do so, and the reason for this is because the club have made no effort to root out the trouble makers (who must number about six) and/or steward the area properly. Many of my group have already said that they will not buy memberships next year and just pay on the gate as away fans, because the best viewing position in the ground is being denied to them because of the lazy approach being taken.
Key security are not impartial, the police aren't even at games, and rugby league is a family sport which thrives on fans mixing together. I don't see it as a coincidence that the encouraged segregation has coincided with more trouble, for decades there have been morons and idiots with bad language but having the fans mixed in together has always led to a great deal of self policing amongst the fans. Somebody shouts something daft and is immediately told to shut it by his peers - it's how it's always been.
I go to the match to watch the match, yes it's a bonus if there's a fantastic atmosphere, but ultimately it's the match I want to watch, and I'd like to do that where I can see the game, and that's on the west.
The fact that Davide has come on here is admirable, but it only further highlights the haphazard approach to defining and communicating this new set of rules as he has moved position on a few points. Same old, same old from the new regime here - a poorly thought out policy, implemented poorly, and all the responses could have been predicted had they actually thought things through. Ultimately the whole thing is needless if they had the wit to tackle root cause.

But you don't have to be IN the North Stand to enjoy the atmosphere that has undoubtedly improved with the roof having been added.
The biggest factor for me in whether I enjoy the match or not (after the result) is whether I've been able to get what I consider to be a decent view of the game. IMHO the best place to watch a match at BV is from the West Terrace.
It now seems a reasonable bet that one end at Newmarket will be for away fans only.
