Ok seems understandable, I would still think that SL would expect some kind of financial guarantee though that it's member clubs can compete for the season, after all it doesn't want clubs dropping out halfway because of financial problems or having to bail out crippled clubs.
It's not just us that seem to be operating at a loss, so clubs being bankrolled must still have to be able to guarantee coninuation in the competition if those backers do a Leighton Samuel!!

Our salary cap is exactly the same as every other club. Our expenditure is a few hundred grand less!

Totally agree but the problem is as someone has said previously the price will be affected by Ted and his family members not having a wage anymore as no-one in their right mind is going to want them to remain at the club - this will affect what Ted wants for his shares/what a new owner would have to pay re contract notice periods to get rid of them.

The real worry is that there is no one who is interested enough to take it on after seeing the state the club is in after years of basil fawlty style management - we are really and truly fooked if that is the case

Ted doesn't want anything for the shares, just someone to benefit the club.

We know the board sold them, but they all had to be sold for finnancial reasons or because they wnted to win things and they all felt that they couldn't at Wakey.

Things will be different at Newmarket.
If we are in SL then we have the great facilities needed to attract players, sponsors, backers and fans, oh and satisfy the RFL. With on-site training facilities second to none.- Who wouldn't want to be a part of that?

However if we are in the championship then any bod has a great location to rebuild and reclaim our rightful place back in SL. The RFL will have 3 years of looking at our complete project, wishing they gave us more time in comparison to the ongoing slow death of RL in London. With NM professional RL can continue in Wakefield, while that remains a return to the top flight would always be possible.

Running a SL club from BV was a task of biblical proportions and it very well maybe that in the end it was impossible to do.
