The club will always owe him a debt of gratitude for staving off relegation four years ago but 10 defeats in the last 11 suggest the magic is no longer working. And that the players no longer listen.

Knowing he wants to leave should bring about a swift parting of the ways.

I do think that it could go either way for JK now, the ones that want him out, there mind is already made up, his supporters though may see this as a attempted jumping of ship, and he could well lose some support.
The thing is who in their right mind would not want to jump ship at the moment, if anyone on here was looking at an uncertain future at work, they would also be looking for another job, the fact that he is one of the top coaches also means other clubs will be trying to get him.
Personally I think he did the right thing, it didn't come off, basically because the club forced the contractual compensation angle, and he will have to get his head back down.
He still wants to go, he is still wanted elewhere, but the club won in the end, as they should have done with tronc and brough!!
Maybe he wouldn't have been so ready to leave then?!?!

It also makes recruitment for 2011 that little bit more difficult, especially if working with Kear was the draw for any potential signing.

The issue with regards to showing him the door is financial. The club can not afford to pay him off.

And more to the point, why did you apply for the Head of Youth job at Wakefield last year, if you hate John, Ted, Johns family etc so much?? Is it bitterness because you was unsuccessful? The Club doesn't need fans like you. You even turn positives into negatives. More to the point, we never see your face at the Audience With nights. I think the club is in any position to pick and chose what kind of fans it needs at all, and any fan who contributes financially in any way should be welcome with open arms (obvious behavior scenarios exempted).

I agree that fans are entitled to their opinions, but is a fan seriously someone who slates coaching staff and directors and never has anything positive to say, sorry but that's not a fan. And if you want to air your opinion that badly, go to an Audience with night, which is an opportunity to air frustrations / comments. It's not so much the Club that gets targeted it's John, family and Ted which was why I asked why apply for a job at the Club in the first place if you have so much hatred towards John and Ted? And more to the point why comment on John not being loyal and being in talks with his agent to go. 100% load of crap and I know that for a fact. So why post lies to give a false impression

The statement sems to have omitted whether or not he was interviewed or how Catalans identified him or how he learned of their future plans.
The future should be interesting.

Seems perfectly clear to me that he did not apply for the job according to that article.

We now have a coach at the club who obviously WAS interested in speaking to Les Cats otherwise he would have said thanks but no thanks immediately.

That said, in JK's defence the club ALLOWED him to talk to Les Cats.

So where do we go from here?

As far as I understand it, Catalan approached Kear, not the other way around, and JK sought the permission of Wakey to see what they had to say, which is perfectly understandable, and was given approval. There was nothing underhand from any side. The issue of compensation ultimately led to Catalan pulling out, and as the statement says, we all move on. JK wasn't and isn't looking to leave Wakey, but simply pursued an approach made to him that was exciting and offered more security. Now the door has been closed, it's as we were, onwards and hopefully upwards, and I think we should just get behind him and the team for the rest of the season.

IF JK was 110% happy, content and committed to Wakey then he would have declined ANY advances.

The fact that he wanted to see what was on offer and was happy to be interviewed for the job tells its own tale.

IF he wasn't interested he wouldn't have spoken to them re the vacant position.

so we have a coach who wants to be elsewhere, we have no new ground despite peoples hard work, no new ground no sl. bv sold,no ground to play in nl if we get booted out. good move by the board that. but i no lets back the bod and jk for HIS team playing total dross.

I do. I had already come to the conclusion that JK was off if he could have been and already aired my concerns that we were left with a coach that everyone including the players would know wanted out.

How are the team going to respond to his coaching now

who knows getting to where im past caring, so are plenty of others.
