They look like one of the old away shirts

Yes it looks like the 2006 (I think it was) shirt but with a white collar and buttons. I like it.

2007 shirt. 2008 was red and blue vertical stripes.

Don't think it is actually - that was the red and blue vertical striped one. I still have mine and wear an Adam Watene badge with it to commemorate his life, with that game being significant as he had just said goodbye to his dad and he dedicated his try to him in that match!

Looking on Wiki, the one I posted earlier is the 2007 shirt because it's made by Errea with Eric Freance as the Sponsor, that combo only happened in 07. The year before was made by Errea also but had the Atlantic solution Sponsor.

That is not the shirt design worn by Wally when he played for us . It is a poor attempt at what was worn which I believe was manufactured by Adidas. What has happened to the blue stripes above and below the red. It can't be that difficult to produce a shirt identical to that of the period without the three stripes on the sleeves obviously.

I was going to say the same that it doesn't resemble the Wally era shirt that much but that's mostly down to it not being made by Adidas and lacking the stripes. That aside the blue band around the red is nowhere thick enough and doesn't seem to match the collar colour Don't know whether it's just the photo though. If I remember right the Wally shirt had a white collar anyway.

Yes I'd have thought it would be fairly simple to do one exactly the same but without the Adidias branding, pretty simple shirt design especially compared to some of the ones we have in SL nowadays. Someone can't have had a good look at the shirt Wally Lewis actually wore before he designed that. Thing is imo if they had nailed the design I reckon they'd have sold all they had plus many more.

The shirt produced is the worst of both worlds, it is not a replica of the Wally Lewis shirt nor does it resemble any shirts we have ever worn. We could try to sell it to the Hull KR supporters because it more resembles their design.

Not only is the shirt design nothing like the 83-84 one but they have used the present day badge on it instead of the traditional one. A good idea carried out badly i'm afraid.

Why would anyone believe this would be acceptable to a Wakefield supporter. We know the shirts we have worn over the years and there are enough photographs, so why produce this, I hope it sells but sadly I too believe the club have made a big error and let's hope not a costly one.

I guess you could market it just as an 'old style' shirt. But it can't be called a retro version of one of ours sadly as it isn't.
