The product in the short term would be poorer, but you cannot assume attendences would drop, a lot of people maychoose yo come and watch local lads turning out for the local side, it's a bit of a long term thing, doesn't really sit well with RL I know!!'"
It is a long term thing - and the decisions HAVE been taken - both by the RFL and by our club. Give it a little longer - we do have 7 players moving up from the Academy next year - that's a huge commitment to this cause!

| Quote ="Tommy Duckfingers"Well that's where we will have to agree to disagree. I love the sport far more than I love Trinity - no Trinity and (with great sadness) I will move along and watch another side, won't support them like I do the Trin, but I will watch week in week out. I would prefer to watch Trinity over any other side by far, but watching the game itself means more to me and I don't think it fair that the game as a whole should be damaged by the actions of the clubs. Ultimately I think most people will agree that imports are one of the biggest threats to the game, and it needs to stop in my opinion.'"
I'm with Chapster on this one. I love Trinity far more than I love the sport.
If there were to be no Trinity I could not bring myself to watch or support any other team. I'm Wakefield Trinity and thats about the end of it.
I will not be popular for this statement but I do not care of we (England or GB) ever beat Australia or NZ again as long as I have my beloved Wakefield Trinity to support and who hopefully are improving year by year. Wakefield winning a trophy (GF or RLCC) or England winning the 4 Nations - nothing to think about.
I'll go even further. If we don't get a franchise in 2012 you can stick the game of Rugby League where the sun does not shine. I'll find something else to do with the considerable time and expense I put into watching Trinity.
Sorry if not many agree with my sentiment but that's the way I feel.

| Stosic seems a really good guy. Was on the radio today hes hoping for a macedonian passport then he can stay. I thought we would have enought as Winterseam / martin / drew have gone. NEwest should go 1st in my opinion if we have to let some 1 go really feel for stosic. Jefferies should go.

A really good guy would have played those 3 games for Serbia. Seems to me Stosic is getting a bit of an easy ride here while the club is getting all the stick. As I've said I'm no fan of bending the rules but if Stosic was given this opportunity then, holiday or no holiday, he should have taken it.

If the club survive then yes I would, but in all honesty I think the only reason Wakefield would not get their license renewed is if the new stadium fails to come off which would render the club homeless.

For what its worth, I agree about the stadium - is that another reason not to pack the side with imports after fiddling the quota?

Agree 100% again, the first thing that got me to follow the sport of rugby league was the sport itself not any individual club. Following a club became secondary for me and still is.
My one dream in Rugby League is to see us win a series at International Level over the best in the World and create a competitive International game , this over anything else is what i yearn to see, as firstly being 31 its something i have never seen and secondly I think it would be a real kick start to the game, which would hopefully help every club within the game.
To do this though we have to get it right domestically, and long term we are trying to do that, but the short term loopholes are for me holding us back, and the sad thing is after 37 years of failure you think we would have learned by now that there is no such thing as a quick fix.

Take that on board Con and l don’t believe for one minute that it is not true, but what about the chance to play for Serbia that would have helped him??? (If that is true).
But again, this is not really my point. The club should not have signed BJ or Morrison......they know how hard it is to sort passports etc yet till risk losing our best forward, coupled with the fact we can not replace him (if the worst happens) till at least Dec!!

RL is bigger than any club. In the first season of Sl i followed Gateshead instead of Huddersfield. I did not feel passionate about gateshead but l;oved the idea of professional RL in the North east.
RL is about many things , the game, the Working class and being anti establishment. Supporting your team is just about a personal thing like your fist love. But most of us move on from our first love. It might not be as exciting but it keeps us happy.
If Huddersfield went down i would not go every week but would support them when i was around but i would still go to as many RL matches, Internationals, MM, Gateshead, CC finals, Sl finals etc.
I love the game more than i love my club.

Nobody on here is saying that Wakey are bigger than RL itself, but a lot of fans on here have watched them for a lot of years unlike yourself who it would seem by your post is a relative newcomer to the game, and those fans are very passionate about their only team and could not contemplate supporting anybody else. As you say Rl is many things although I am not sure about anti establishment I dont know where that fits.
If Hudds went down would you go and support another SL club though, having moved from watching Gateshead to watching Hudds you might well do so who knows, the point being is that a lot of Wakey fans would not.
