Again of true its seems to be the Wigan/Peet philosophy, lots of young players coming through and he will have their confidence, sadly its the older players he may struggle with. Its a very bold approach which could backfire spectacular for both himself and the club, again all if true.

it wouldnt suprise me if all he has to work with are the young players. I really hope it works out for him and he just dosnt become the fall guy

Nice enough bloke and done a good job with the youngsters, but head coach, not in my eyes, not yet anyway. And people thought that WP was inexperienced.
I think that he will be the interim coach, but you never know, time will tell.

From the outside it appears this could be the reasoning going on. Poching may have been told he's working working with youngsters next year and he may have balked, so contract not renewed. Who would accept such a position, a coach who has worked with these players and is keen for a shot.

If true I hope works out for both the club and Mash. Could be a great success or utter disaster.

To be honest I’m a bit underwhelmed at the thought of it.
The lad may be a good coach at lower level but is unproven at senior level. Time will tell I just hope the club make the right choice!

Yes so am I agreeing with you, we can only be in an alternative universe but the question is will it help sell season tickets, I just don’t see how it will. The other problem is what gravitas does he have amongst players we are looking to sign. With regards Peet he was in a different situation, Wigan had a good squad and are a big name in SL we have offloaded most of ours and how do you sell Trinity to a possible new signing.

He managed the reserves this season mixed full of senior and youth. Where did they end up? In the grand final.

Also last year he managed the academy into arguably the best in the league.

Maybe not my choice and it is a high risk play but success seems to come to the teams he coaches and they play a effective brand of rugby.

If it’s him he should be afforded chance to prove people he can do it. It may not be though so let’s wait and see.

Entirely correct the bloke has talent and ability. However lets see the calibre of signing he is given to work with because without the players he will fail.
If the club expect a rookie ,albeit talented rookie, to compete he must at least given a reasonable squad. From some names we hear, he could be already on a loser before a ball is kicked.
