yes it doesn't why has this happen not all is down to laziness too many kids have been abducted in the passed, and now all parents just want to drop off pick up to make sure their safe,
mel walks in the afternoon to pick them today the weather was bad so we both was coming back from town so drove straight there, we always park where there is no lines and off the kerb, my car tax allows me to do that I also we respect other peoples drives, if they want to let them put yellow lines all around the estates then, again its not another rant but to let other parents in the same position that we are in that they don't receive a ticket

can see your point but with a trusted group of parents pooling you could reduce the problem by 400% ie 5 kids in a car instead of 1.

and to be honest, abductions???? how many???
to be consistant you would never let your kids out to play.
again please dont take this as criticism , merely debate, i know its a sensitive subject.

however anyone issuing a ticket in todays rain needs to talk to who told them to do it and say.......i need discresion in my decisions.. or resign.

I can't see why the weather is an issue. A bit of rain is a lot less dangerous than parking on yellow lines, causing road blocks or parking on pavements.

we have 3 lads 15, 11, and 6 the only reason we pick up the kids is our youngest, how do you know how is picking you kid is done on trust with a complete stranger, bar for meeting at school,
we have picked up others before when they have been working late but takes a close relationship in learning to trust do you not agree

and also i think you need to accept todays weather was exceptional and therefore some leeway should be allowed

I've never known a child or parent melt in the rain!

on this occasion it was a thunder storm, I ain't going to walk 15 mins in torrential rain was bad enough yesterday when I got caught walking the dog

I totally agree but don't think the weather is an excuse for causing danger to other parents and children. Which as you have already stated you don't.

you dont melt in rain because rain is water and supresses the oxygen need for fires to start and cause melting,

thats why firemen use it.

think you need a more balanced opionion her to get change, yes id like less cars on school streets, but i also accept on days like today frankly im unlikely to be pulling out of my own drive in a monsoon!

For me all 300 kids can come to ours in seperate cars every morning that is their parents choice it does not mean they should be allowed to park illegally block other people in so on and so forth.

Unbelievable, I live 100 yards from an infants junior school and every day I cannot get either in or out of my drive because of people parked across it whose only excuse is I have to park somewhere. I am not an unreasonable person and I am easy to dance with and dont bother as a rule but when I need to get out and I insist on them moving according to you I am causing trouble.

You could not make it up.


Also correct me if I am wrong but I thought the roads were for cars and the footpaths were for pedestrians' with prams probably going to the same school as your kids, but because of thoughtless selfish people what dont care about anybody else park on the path.

the reason for this tread was I know of a few that do post on here comes from wreny and its a warning as we have had letters before and some seem to ignore them

We send warnings out all the time sad fact is the only thing that makes a difference is a police presence.

I am. The side of the majority of law abiding parents who play by the rules against the small number of ignorant self self self parents who think they can do as they please causing danger and annoyance to the aforementioned majority.

The weather was bad but I'm not sure what you are saying people should be allowed to do because of the weather. Mount the kerb? Park on yellow lines? For me that still just makes the whole situation more dangerous especially in the bad weather. No need for a truce it's only a debate!
