| Quote ="kinleycat"thanks TRB very informative.
What is the significance of £500k?
Would ALL the money go into the club?
Would ALL the directors leave unconditionally?
Would any new investors inherit any debt and if so how much?
If there is debt is this what may have put off other potential investors?
If we were to go into admin, would that make us debt free (or reduced) would we be still favoured as the crusaders seem to be, and a better investment to investors?
Are the other investors available to "the supporters trust" for discussion?
What do you believe is the likelihood of us raising either the amount of £, or the amount of investors?
Is there a compromise, on either the £valuation or the make up of how/Where the cash comes from?
Will someone, figurehead this process, and keep the masses informed?
Sorry for all the questions, but they will need answering before anyone is daft enough to hand over their cash.
Lots of good answers and im in.
'"
Some very pertinent questions which indeed do need answering. To try and answer as many questions as I can from what I heard last night:
All the money would go into the Club
All the Directors would resign (and become supporters of the Club just like us)
New investors would not inherit the clubs debts on a personal level, the Clum is a Limited liability Company.
I dont think the debts are that great (don't know figures but we were led to believe they were small compared with some clubs - £8m) and I don't think the debt put off investors but more the uncertainty with the franchise.
Administration would remove debts but in my opinion we would not be treated like Crusaders and would more than likely be relegated/fail with the franchise bid.
I believe there will be investors who will invest substantially more than the £1,000 so we will not need 500 @ £1,000 but the more investors the better.
Ted and the Board want out and this gives all those who would like to see him go an opportunity to see a new BOD but it needs people to put their money where their mouths are.
I personally would like the see some form of incentive given to new shareholders to enourage the purchase of shares. Not thought it through yet but say for an investment of £1,000 you be given in addition to your 1000 shares say a season ticket at Newmarket for a period of time so that you feel that you are getting something tangible as well as shares.

So how does Ted and the crew get their money back for the value of their shares ? or do they just say thats it, you can have them for free, Or is the money for the share issue to actually pay Ted off

They don't get their money back, they don't want their money back.
Whatever people feel about Ted he is a supportor of the Club and has been since a kid. All he wants to do is step down and let someone else run the club but until there are new investors there is no one else to run it.
His shares will be put into Trust.

Thats generous i suppose, but why issue an exra share holding, surely that will de-value the share holding in its entirety, why not just sell his shares to the investors and give the money to the club, just seems to be a strange way as who would manage the trust shares ? i dont know and tbf its nothing to do with me, but i suppose it will all come out in the wash.

that would make sense to me also, ted gives his shares up, on the proviso that the required amount is raised they ere then redistributed between investors pro rata.

I guess he could but I don't think even at a 75% holding Ted has any where near 500,000 shares.
The aim is to bring new money into the Club and the Trust (Supporters or Community ?) could hold the shares as a stake in the Club and who knows have a representation on the Board.
I guess it will all become clearer shortly.

| Whatever you say about Ted thats a generous decision to make after all the money he has put in. So everybody who has a go how the club is run, a £1,000 isnt that much or get some friends together to make it upto a grand and you too can have a go!!
Cant have say I'm worried though...

Because he'd get screwed on Tax meaning the £500k would be significantly reduced.

| I dont think you have a hope in hell of attracting the investment you need, £500,000 is massive and why would supporters chuck money away when 2 investors (with much more money) have just walked away??
I would doubt that even Leeds, Saints or Wigan would get anywhere near that sort of investment from fans if put in the same situation........and they have all got some actual fans!!
If the basis of Wakefields future was based on getting a pie in the sky decision on this FREE stadium then it tells you something about the state of Wakefield Trinity Wildcats as a viable entity!!
The whole development at Newmarket will never be built now, its the end of all that, you lot have to face the facts and to keep slagging off Wakefield council is outrageuos in the extreme when you consider they have bought belle vue for a good amount of tax payers money 3 times in the last 15-20 years and sold it back to you for a quid 3 times so that you could sell it again to raise more cash to waste...........and you still say they havent helped you!!!!

| Phew, this feels bad. We're hoping for a franchise as a professional sports club, but we will be run by whoever sticks their hand up in a shareholders meeting. It might be one way forward, but it feels like we are going to turn into a small-fry community club.
And I can understand why the RFL would differentiate between us and Crusaders. Looking at impartially, one is a new club saddled with debts from a previous owner, whereas the other is one that would want a loan to help out the same owners.
As much as I want to help out the club, I can't help feeling that it will be a grand down the pan. We will be in NL regardless and what happens after that is anybe's guess.

Nonsense!
And the difference between the two ideals is that we are fans first, not business men. Only the RFL can explain why the sensible business route for the club is the one that we cannot take - despite them doing the very same with another club which is supposed to be on equal footing with us!

| TRB........Its time for you to stop being a busy body and cease trying to sugar coat turds and giving these poor fans things to cling on to, such THAT.... if you were not involved and read the rediculous garbage you have written over the last few months you would see straight away that there wasn't a hope in hell of it actually becoming a reality.
These fans deserve better!!
Its time for some cold hard truth on this forum and it will be tough to cope with, but stringing people along with pathetic petitions and new groups to join is a waste of everybodys time!!
The facts are thus:
- The club is in debt and without new investment will go bust within a month or 2.
- The club will not get a new Franchise.
- The club is probably unlikeley to meet its 2011 Super League commitments.
- Newmarket will NOT get the go ahead following the Public Enquiry and the project will be shelved.
Wakefield should not be asking the fans for all this money when investors won't touch it with a barge pole, they are banking on blind emotion and its a disgrace!!
If the fans want Ted out and to take the club over, why not let it go into administration and buy it for a lot less money, they could have a very good future in the championship and not have to throw all this money into a defunct Super League dream!!

Because we were offering security against something that does not, and may never, exist? A club requesting financial aid when it has had the same ownership for years, and 11 years in the top flight to get it's act together is much different to a new entity bogged down by the debts of a previous owner?

in answer to your well thought out musings (not) though,
1 all clubs are in debt, including yours.
2 we dont yet know, it may still be you.
3 cant see that being an issue, how do you come to your conclusion (please show all working out)
4 how do you know this to be true? i have had a letter sent to me today giving the reasons why it has gone to a "local" inquiry, and to be honest it doesnt look as bad as first thought, most issues should be addressed by the developer.
Wakefield can ask its fans for what it choses, a bit like buying a brick to make up for a cash shortfall on GH.
Last point i agree with, as long as the rfl are going to deal with us the same as crusaders, id deffo think it was the best way forward.

How can something be a fact -- yet still be probably/unlikely
Apart from the club is in debt - as are many others, your comments are not facts, just your opinion.
Why have you waited until now to pass comment and not done previously?
Or have you??????

Of course they can ask the fans for whatever they want.....but it does look very bad especially when the RFL see it, I also feel sorry for the fans being asked to come up with this massive amount of money just after Christmas..........its very poor, dont you agree????
Please note, i am absolutely not affiliated to any club (Except Leeds United) so whatever you think, you are wrong.
