| Quote ="TRB"Your input is appreciated.
The stadium will be controlled by the Community Trust. Yes it includes councillors, but they are only part of the trust. A sub-committee (Sir Rodney & Co) are tasked with delivering and then operating the stadium, with the intention being that it is a stadium for us all, with Trinity the anchor tennants.
The rental costs etc have already been considered, having already been looked at previously as well when discussing Thornes.
All sorted!
'"
Keep the good news coming Phil!
Thanks for your (and the rest of SWAG's) hard work.

| It's just the news we've been waiting for, ticks all the boxes as far as most Wakefield fans's expectations are concerned, I imagine, especially the fact that it's still within the boundaries of what we all consider to be Wakey.
What makes me wonder is the statements made by the developers and Sir Rodderz on the part of the Community Trust. How big is the district/community the stadium intends to serve? Does it extend eastwards as well?

We all understand that post mate we really do.
1 No backbone Box and the gang, lets take a walk in the park
2 Sir Rodney and the gang, who i don't know to have a beer with but i gather he won't start something he can't finish and IMO thats why this as been ongoing behind the scenes for so long. I doubt he'll have left anything to chance and Planing permission will be nailed on.
I will be relieved to see the ground up and running and we've had false dawns before BUT this is deal or no deal

| There are going to be a lot of empty seats in your 12,000 stadium (from when I have visited).
Also, from the Sky Sports article, i didn't realise Wakefild had a university

Beleive me I Know how bad it is at the moment but some of the stiff collared SMC appointees will have to see sense eventualy.
Leigh were told that the gym at the Hilton Park ground would be available to them for some considerable time. Unfortunately when they tried to use it someone had demolished it. That left the club with nowhere to train unless they pay to use what is essentialy their own stadium.

Why, surely it's commom sense that attendances increase by a few thousand when a new stadium is built, due to it being under cover and generally alot nicer!

Clearly a fair amount of work has been done since the pit was closed by this lot:

Not quite sure what to make of this, they seem to be all over. I assume it is already accounted for:

Rather conveniently, the proposed area sits right in between the habitat and nature areas by my reckoning.

It can be read the other way, e.g. when Ted is quoted as saying "this is very exciting for rugby league in the district" it arguably makes Wakey look the inclusive ones, where as Cas made it clear they were doing their own thing. In franchising terms we are the club willing to represent the whole area.
Equally using the term district opens us up to a wider catchment area. It equates Wakefield Trinity to being the representatives of Rugby for the whole area. In a similar vein positing the stadium on the edge of Wakefield, bordering Cas/Leeds territory isn't a bad idea, as it makes us the most local club in the border area. Obviously, we have to be sure Batley and Dewsbury don't encroach to the other side...

I’m sure if it’s available to everyone, not just sports clubs, within the district then it will generate larger grants to help develop it.

Wasnt there an hour ago when I visited theres tons of land round there most of it flat, about 10 houses which the building work might affect (i.e. noise ) same applies for match days, about 200yrds from motorway junction for me a perfect location.
