| Please, everybody -one step at a time!
We're not out of administration yet - in fact, I'm not sure we're even in it yet, I think we've applied for it but thats to be decided tomorrow.
Any prospective buyers will surely have talked to the RFL and asked for assurance re. the license - I can't in all honesty seeing the RFL saying anything that would leave them open to accusations of 'fixing' the next license round (' OK, seeing as you've got pots of money we'll give you a license) - and that would make me think twice before putting money in. Added to that NM is not yet a certainty - it bloody well should be, but thats another story.
We'll do well to survive at all, but I think we will, and hopefully we may prosper. But it would be just our luck for the courts to refuse administration, the club folds, THEN NM gets approval and Cas move in! Actually, that sounds like it would be Boxes wet dream!

| Quote ="Inflatable_Armadillo"I understand, like you, that Steve Parkin holds 70% of Clipper and I also heard that his personal wealth was estimated around the £150m mark, so due to Paul Caddicks problems over the last couple of years he probably does currently have deeper pockets. Clipper turns-over about £180m per annum I think as well, so that means that his dividend is likely to run into the tens of millions per annum. That makes him super-rich!
I trust Clan and if he says he is in the running, he is in the running, but ultimatley news will emerge very swiftly tomorrow I expect!'"
Clipper has only achieved that level of turnover in the last couple of years, but in any case, I always thought that any dividends were paid out of after tax profits?
Which in the distribution game, percentage wise, will be in single figures, so your tens of millions estimate is ....eeerm, well traditional Armidillo moonshine! That said, a paypacket of a couple of million would be very nice, thank you, even after tax...... I just think there has to be a level of realism amongst some fans as to what potential investors have available to invest.
As I previously posted, it sounds like good news at last for Trinity

The builders will be starting stadium construction at Glasshoughton in a matter of weeks.
...and anyway, why would Cas want to move to the Leeds Wakey border to play?

When I bet I always lose, so maybe it's a bit of reverse psychology! Experience shows that the higher you build your expectations the more it hurts if you fail to realise them. I think a healthy dose of caution washed down with realism is needed for some posters on both this and the Cas forum. And gloating should be left for the team displays - thats why we need the derby games.

| I too have been told we only spend a fraction of the salary cap we are allowed. With a bit more to spend i am sure we can compete against some of the top teams. Wakefield seem to have a habit of finding Diamonds in the rough but always lose them to the big money men.

Not spending the full cap, well they kept that nearly as secret as this.

This is where the cloud cuckoo land dreamists are wetting their pants.
If Wakey are only spending 1.2 million on the cap at the moment (as rumoured), yet are still making losses each year, then any new owner would need to put close to 700k a year of his own money into the club in order for you to utilize the full cap, until the club starts to increase it's own income streams.
To all the realists out there, do you seriously believe that any successfull business individual is going to do that? His first job is going to be getting the club on a sound footing again rather than players.

Forget the Caddick wealth, that report is a perfect example of why Wakey fans wetting their pants at the moment could be a false dawn.
Remind us all again how good a club Wigan were when Whelan was running the club? the same man that that report shows as far wealthier than any Parkin or Caddick.

The new owner wont be getting any money from existing st holders either, should he decide to honour them (and it would be foolish not to as it would alienate supporters that wakefield need right now).

I asked for realists to answer. That is most definately not something you can be desribed as from your past posts over the years. You would be more in the cloud cuckoo land fantastists.
Don't get involved next time. And I asked the question, not the answer.

I appreciate that, its just all this my clubs owner is richer than your clubs owner is pretty irrelevant when you are basically restricted on what you can spend on a club anyway.
When you have £100m or £1000m in the bank, in real terms your ability to invest in your club is going to be about the same level.

The thing is we have only sold a couple of hundred or so because so many decided not to purchase because of the going's on down there.
So the new owners will if smart enough have a pre-season push on the old offer before the season commences on the back of new optimism that they will bring with them. There's probably near a thousand out there that could be persuaded with the right noise made.

We had people quoting 500 ticket holders a few week ago. Now it's down to a couple of hundred is it? Another couple of weeks and I'll bet I'm the only season ticket holder!
Can't see more than a hundred or so being swayed to join in regardless of who takes over.
