The club has done a fantastic job increasing our season ticket / membership sales to in the region of 4,500. I think this means that we count all these on the gate, so if the ground was empty you can still give a crowd of 4,500. I thought there was about 1,500 from Hull KR which was a brilliant effort from them, Sat night, game on TV, half their team injured etc. So that takes us to 6,000. Then we have about 500 in the Benidorm flats which means we had in the region of 3000 fans who are not season ticket holders who decided to come to the match. I do not think that there are 3000 people in Wakey who came to see The Loverable Rogues and this has got to be great news as it gives us great potential to sell more season tickets, last night would not have put any of the 3000 off coming to next match and they must have paid cash for their tickets either at the shops or on the gate which is great for the clubs cash flow.

Agreed, but after escorting it from the pitch to much applause from both KR and Wakey fans alike, our heavy-handed stewards then escorted it from the ground..

Great attendance to start off our home campaign, all the more given the Odsal nightmare, the fact it was on TV and quite a cold night at Belle Vue last night.

I pointed this out on another topic, thats why we ask our Lound n Proud fans toget in the Northstand it was out standing even though the fans to the right of the up rights was too quiet, come on people find your voices..

Amazing attendance for a sky cold night well done Waky !! I have no probs with getting beat by the better team on the night and that team was you guys.
Oh and supercat we brought 8500 actually

I try not to be critical of our supporters but,

I was stood under the big screen and was surrounded by mainly older supporters of their late 40s up to 70s and maybe 80s there were a few kids there from what looked as young as 6 or 7 years old and a bunch of 13 year olds that we brought to the game.
That's not exactly the sort of mix who are going to start singing and chanting!

I don't know if we're talking about the same group of late teenage and 20 somethings but the lads stood a few feet from me would be struck dumb if the 'F' Word was removed from their vocabulary either that or everytime they spoke they'd sound like a Norman Collier sketch.

I'm not naive enough to think that I can go to a game and never hear bad language and swearing but is it too much to ask that you tone it down around kids or that you might move to an area where the people there would be less offended and the 'C' word is less inappropriate.

Jeez! let me guess, when we have a 6k crowd and they think theres more than 6k in, will we be acused of fiddling our books to bring the tax bill down. Talk about being obsessed.

I can't think of a single occasion when the "C" word is appropriate. I can't understand why some people can only express their passion, or general conversation through foul language. I've never been one for bad language and it is only on the rare occasion that such words pass my lips.

In general it is offensive, especially when you are surrounded by strangers.

Sport is sport though, whether it be rugby, football or something else. Bad language has always been present on the terraces and I dare say always will be. Such a shame that people are brought up in an environment where it is tolerated at home and with their peers.

I was in the north stand, boy did i enjoy it, we spoke about the KR fans, no way was there 1500, more like 700 tops was, alot of Trins fans in the west stand

Less at Cas than BV and we were on TV

Oh and they were plaaying Leeds, great result for Cas though good job Leeds brought 5K

Should have should in the North Stand then back/ centre where most of the singers go not the corner. Good atmosphere last night in the north stand and will only get better.

Unfortunately you're right. A large percentage of the younger generation see the 'f' word as a necessary word in their vocabulary and they don't really care if it offends others. I used to think the offenders were just the uneducated few trying to make up for their lack of intellect but it isn't. You can walk round any town centre and the younger generation use the words most of us use discreetly, freely, in public, regardless of what others think. I'm afraid we've lost that one!

Yes, it does make you wonder what some people think constitutes "foul and abusive language".

Sadly it crept in to some chants at the back end of the game, if it continues it will spoil all the hard work done by the club so far.

Needs sorting sharpish.

I too was next to that group of potty-mouths - totally unnecessary and for mine, shows a lack of maturity, given that we were surrounded by older folks and kids.

I don't mind a bit of industrial language in the right circumstances, but in the middle of a mixed crowd isn't it; I blame the parents/the government/modern society/video games/immigrants/popular music.*

It used to be used in dramas to convey utter frustration or intense anger , now it is used so much it has no dramatic effect.
So called satirical shows, which pale into insignificance compared to those of the past,use industrial language nearly every other word.
So what can we expect.

Do season ticket sales count towards attendance regardless of attendances? I always thought they worked it out on turnstile clicks.

On the one hand, it would seem to make it a difficult job, because you would need to work out exactly how much of the cash received related to concessions, etc, as aren't some of the gates mixed?

Having said that, there did seem to be plenty of spaces and so I wasn't convinced the attendance was as high as they said, but it was still very healthy, particularly as it was a Saturday teatime Sky game on a cold day.
