the adult child separation happen to us at Bradford many years ago except we was inside the ground while the turn style operator wasn't having any of letting my lad in who was 10 yr old at the time, so it doesn't happen just at our ground

I was fuming as the lad had to walk a fair distance outside the ground to get in, a Bradford supporter kindly watch for his safety

but this should not happen, I can understand a paying being separate to the ticket only entrances and the reasons for child being separate to the adult

this system is so dated

Queues would have been smaller if Catherine street ones had been opened.

The turnstyles are something that has actually got worse under the current regime. Whatever the policy is it needs changing because at times its farcical.

And i couldn't get a programme either inside or outside the ground.

I arrived about 20 mins before kick off and queued for 5 mins or so to be told I wasnt allowed in that turnstile. It did have a notice which said something about juniors, concessions and match tickets but to be honest I didnt take much heed of what it said.

I then went to the turnstile located a couple of feet away and queued for another 5 mins whilst I watched loads of people of all ages and with no obvious reasons to have a concessionary ticket to be admitted through the turnstile I had been refused at. There were others rejected at that same turnstile but I dont know why.

For what it's worth I am a season ticket holder.

I had a similar problem at Cas a few years ago, my 6 year old son had to go through the next turnstile and the operator would not accept the away voucher from his season ticket. Me inside ground and him outside, So its not only at BV that these things happen.

Turnstile separation is something that has happened for as long as I can remember and needs sorting out at every ground in every sport. It's ludicrous that a parent can't go through the same turnstile as their child. If the reason is that they need to be able to tell the difference between adults and kids, how hard is it to tell the difference between a 37 year old and an 11 year old?????

I too saw examples of this today while queuing to get in. Numerous parents were queuing up with their kids only to get turned away and have to join another queue while their kids had to wait inside the ground for them to come in. I saw a few good gestures though from numerous fans who just let the parent go through in front of them as they got turned away.

The signage for the turnstiles is printed in about 36 point text on a piece of A4 paper and can't be seen until you've queued up to it.

The turnstiles were farcical yesterday and until I'd got to the ground I'd not noticed that the season tickets are printed in alphabetical and not fixture list order.

You'd be amazed how many people struggle with where Hull KR comes alphabetically!!

Had the same problem with my daughter and nephew, had the same problem last year and the year before and the year before. Have emailed the club each season and have NEVER had a reply. In my eyes a ticket is a ticket whether its an adult season ticket, junior season ticket, concession season ticket or simply a matchday ticket. I could understant tickets and cash being seperate entrances, but not adults, juniors and concession ticket holders. We all know the club reads whats on here, so how about you post a satisfactory answer.

well our experience we queued for 10 minutes we had tickets the sign outside for the turnstile we entered said TICKETS we where then told we had to the wrong turnstyle the operator then clicked us through on the turnstyle we were at but we had to pass our tickets too the turnstyle across ?????????? now does make sense the turnstyle we went through had been clicked for us twice but the turnstyle across had the tickets

I turned up at 3.15pm with my season ticket, waited a couple of minutes if that and I was straight in. I always use the Donny Road entrance, seems easier than the others.

Used the western terrace turnstiles which season ticket holder can now use after been cash only last season, so all good for me this season rather than having to walk round to the north terrace turnstiles like last season. A good improvement well done Trinity.

Yep, glad they have changed it, never really understood why we could not get in that way but its sorted now.

Went in through Cats Bar, no queue, I would assume anyone with a ticket could use it and then access the ground down the steps and round the back of the flats.
Not suitable for disabled supporters but ideal for families with young children, hell you can even have a pint and look in the new shop.

I agree it needs sorting, but I think the reason paying adults and children have to go through seperate turnstiles comes down to accounting, and the fact that it's open to abuse,

For example, for arguments sake lets say it's £20 for adults, £10 for kids. At the end of his shift, Joe Bloggs the turnstile operator takes £1000 to the security office. He writes on his slip that's he's had 75 people through his turnstile, and this breaks down to 50 kids (£500) and 25 adults (£500). The official in the security office checks his takings, there is £1000, and checks the turnstile counter, 75 people have come through. Everyone is happy.

Now, suppose in reality it was actually the other way round...and there were 50 adults (£1000), 25 kids (£250), so a total of £1250 was taken, and Mr Bloggs has pocketed the extra £250. Very easy to do.

So, to combat this the club either employ someone (at say £30 a game) to stand next to every turnstile operator to make sure he/her is being trustworthy. Or they simply print off a few sheets of A4 to stick above the turnstiles, have seperate turnstiles for adults and children and tell families etc if they want to go through the same turnstile they need to pre-purchase tickets.

Now, I'm not suggesting that any Wakefield turnstile operators have or would fiddle the numbers, but it's inevitable that these things will occur.

As for seperate entrances depending on your ticket (adults/concession)-that's something which makes no sense to me.

I'm a season ticket holder as are my kids, we go to the gates that say tickets on not cash, we still can't go through the same turnstile, as we are handing over our season ticket slip with no financial value, this theory of security is irrelevant, I do see that if people are paying cash on entry that could be a problem, but the main grip here is where people have either a season ticket or a pre-purchased ticket, I cannot for the life of me see any reason why, if you have a ticket (season or pre-paid) for the game, that you are not allowed to enter through the same gate.

I take your points on board, as a result we will be changing the turnstile operation to hopefully support the thread.

Again,if it's deemed that you look younger than you are or in some instances older,you must provide sufficient identification when challenged. I can assure you that every effort is made to make the entry into the stadium efficient but a small minority of people do try it on by entering with incorrect match day tickets

Our fundamental issue was the junior had a ticket and we paid cash, we lined up for a turnstile that said £20 & Tickets. It should have been labelled £20 & adult tickets. So the nipper after being turned away had to join another queue. We held up our queue to make sure he got in.

Two issues really. Oh and the 3rd!

Can't argue with that - good to see a response and hopefully, things will improve.

Important to note the last sentence though - every system is open to abuse by a small minority and that means that measures have to be taken that impact negatively on the majority; that's modern life - people are tw@s - true story.

Still would like to know if Catherine Street turnstiles will be used this year.I appreciate they have to be closed when Sky are here but a lot of spectators come up Catherine Street and it would take a lot of pressure off the others ones
