what Mathers did makes no difference at all to the face a spear tackle is dangerous and a professional foul so should be at the very least put on report - FAR more dangerous than the "chicken wing" he got Snitch for.

It was clumsy, nothing more. Besides we all know Child would rather bin players for holding down for a milli-second too long.

The performance was better than I expected and I could not fault the effort the guys put in. Some poor defending at times led to soft tries but I think with a couple of good signings we will get better.

not too despondent at all ,could have been far worse .scored three cracking tries, not bad for five drives and a kick.we still manage to concede too many tries out wide, don`t we learn anything from last year .

Tbh if the ref had let the play flow as it should have been, cas would have won by many more points.
All the stop start just stopped all fluency in the game.
The ref was poor.
Wakefield played better than i expected.

Wakey came back into it and he penalised them to death and reduced them to 12 men for a second time. Seen wakey all too often get into the game for 15 mins and go on to snatch a win with only 12 men against the run of play, though.

Beat me to it, every time Wakey fought back, they started to get penalised to death, some justified a lot not and both sin bins were down to excessive penalties.
