| He played against west bowling and east leeds in the last 2 rounds of BARLA cup for crigg and is still a registered player at Crigg and to the best of my knowledge (Last time I spoke to his dad) he will be continuing playing for Crigg & RL

| However it's not in my place to comment really on JD so I'll leave it there, but I hate rumours and fabrication/manipulation regarding juniors, it is killing teams and we are loosing players all over due to kids & parents becoming disillusioned by some of the goings on

| Sounds like the East Leeds team are a big side who dominate sides. It's West Hulls first Yorkshire cup final and the boys will be happy if they keep the score close

| Quote ="Outwood Vic"Seen as it's aimed at me I will respond accordingly. Whilst playing Crigg away in the Barla Cup, East Leeds didn't pass the ball through more than one pair of hands ALL GAME, and the majority of the ball went to both props and the LF, with the occasional scoot straight from DH by their very quick centre (no 3). If the fact that they don't pass the ball at all, and give at least 75% of the possession to there two props and their LF means they don't rely on size and power then I totally agree. Whilst attacking the Crigg line in the second half (approx 5yrds out), the majority of the team were stood on the 10mtr line exactly in a row, as if they were defending - because even their own players know the ball will not be passed and will simply be driven over by a big lad!
Mark my words, in 2 years time East Leeds will be mid-table at best.'"

sorry I tired to reply but i mucked it up
O V I wasn't in no way aiming a comment at you but more your post. Im a little tired of posters claiming that teams who achieve things getslated as one man teams . At crigg we get this all time that its got to a point that some igorant pperson as shouted your just a one man team and the player we all know whom we reference was not even on the pitch he was on the bench injured.
I can asure everyone the rumours of 1 men teams are flawed the facts are we fail to deal with it.
4 years ago or so Stanley Rangers used to put 40 past teams for fun yet im sure like me you were fed up of the touch line and opposition coaches who always said "all they have is 2 big lads" when in truth Stanley had talent all over the park and number 9 was never recognised hardly by the opposition ! Were they blind ? Noo unlike us they only saw the wrecking ball destruction at the end.
although in your favour they have fallen a little now but I think thats due to being unlucky.
I have the dvd probably the only crigg parent lol to get it from the challenge cup final and if you watch it we were out sized yes but they also played smart.
Now then one man can make a difference however with influence I agree and in effect I think truly that from what ive heard the Panthers will be a force this year and im gutted that they didnt make the BARLA final but we must applauded East Leeds they not only knock crigg out but they have taken 2 other trophies from them this year and have only lost 1 game and I can assure everyone it takes more than 1 big lad and a fast winger to of ended Crigglestones unprecedented run.
And as another poster as said this under 14s group, WOW ! We are so privileged to be watching a very very rare group of players that have so much potential and possibility.
In two years you will be right however but mainly due to how competitive the group is, watch out for Siddal ?

the loss of 1 was devastating in the pack as he shouts and is a great influence on the field the other left the 6 without his normal partner for set moves and they play at school together like that. However we have to get used to life without 1 I think you know and tbf to East Leeds they had a couple of players out.
Crigglestone have been plagued with injuries this year unlike others were we have been lucky having 5 or 6 subs.
We are also missing one other player who keeps getting overlooked and should be back next year if you cut this kid in half he would be yellow and black. Financial Times will know who I mean

| Cas academy yr9 travelled to brooksbank Halifax for a friendly game has their Yorkshire cup oponants holmfirth conceded their cup place. Cas ran out 0-54 winners which is a shame has the cas team is really struggling to get anything like a game at this stage of the yr and it might come back to haunt them next year.
Thankfully Yorkshire junior games are far more competitive has is the barla cup hopefully this will continue for the forseable future, I'm looking forward to the barla final it should be a good game with both teams at full strength. One things for sure is that it will be a interesting off season with many of the players and teams looking to improve.lets hope it's another good year!!

| Hi all, just wondering what other peoples thoughts are on the RFL 'Embed the Pathway' programme? My opinion is that the RFL are attempting to dress up the loss of funding and infrastructure to run a meaningful rep' programme as something that will be a positive for the game.
The continued (quality) CPD of coaches is something im in favour of, though I think getting volunteers to profile players throughout the year and feed this back to the RFL is bonkers. Up-skilling coaches should always be important regardless of whether there is a rep programme or not and for the RFL to say that one replaces the other is just a cover up of a poor situation.
What other sport has no rep player pathway til U15s? As an example we've a very talented lad whose been offered so many opportunities by British Cycling (BMX) to represent his country etc, he's also an outstanding Rugby player and im trying to encourage him to stay when we go to 14s (he races on a Sunday), letting him know doors will begin to open for him. The problem is that the elite player pathway no longer exists until 15s.
I began coaching on Service Area and Scholarships in 2004 and think its a massive shame that the current group of players do not get exposed to this environment where they can begin to consider it as a career and also really challenge themselves. I don't agree with Football picking up 7 year olds but we've been gradually moving towards the extreme.

I've always felt their should be representative rugby from u12s up wether that's in the form of local district teams playing competitive games or county rugby, but in all cases there will always be some that say they arnt picked fairly.
I also feel the current elite training is a positive move and again it's caused some debate on the selections but I can say that the lads that are on the Castleford one have had nothing but praise on how it's been run and it will do nothing but benefit there games.
The current age of our lads Seth will always generate uncertainty with regards there futures and prospects but it will sort its self out by the summer.
On another note cas academy yr 9 won there second round Yorkshire cup tie 42-0 against milnfield from York.

Cracking player.. we have had todays ref a couple of times this season and he is pretty poor! Feel sory for hulls fb! Superb game and then let leeds 3 in for try with 2 mins to go

| RE Brayton-Seth
In total agreement about the district teams and I belive age 12 is the best time for the lads . The change happens big boy 13 a side , silverware etc . The one thing Brayton picked up on is selection ive no idea how it happens etc but the all star replacement seems to be a bit of a joke tbh. Crigglestone must have the smallest representation and a scout from a very successful team as asked myself why 2 players dont play.
Also on the age restrictions , theres one of those one offs in the school team who seems to have the x factor . Gets the tick from scouts and gets told to go to a club and play with Crigglestone as he actually is just raw talent never had played before,
trouble is hes also very good at over sports including football and hes getting offers NOW for bigger things.
again this 14s group is one of the finest set of lads ever, I watch over groups 12s and others whilst others referee etc and this group is amaze balls .
?
I would love to see Yorkshire V Lancashire V Humberside . In a homd and away battle .

I agree 100% that wests were the better rugby side and would have been worthy winners. Tbf to the referee I think he got most things right including the penalties many for messing about at the play the ball or ripping the ball in the tackle. Both tries were ruled out by the linesman wether they were the right calls I don't know has I was too far away to say either way.
The 8 for hull was good but in my opinion the two 13s were the best players on the pitch while the 6,7,9 for wests directed their team around the park superbly.
Again this final was again a stand out game to add more evidence that this is a very strong age group.
Next year it will be all to play for again and while east Leeds and wests are currently top dogs in their respective Leagues I fancy 1or 2 teams will push them hard next year.

| Yeah - 3 tries disallowed & at one point 10 penalties in a row against . East Leeds scored a try from what should of been a clear penalty the other way too.
Can't believe that they lost , but on a positive note - the future looks very bright ..really well drilled & everyone knew their job on the pitch .
