If he does leave at the end of the season which I am sure he will the club had better use the recruitment budget to sign players who actually improve the squad rather than to just fill a shirt and have a squad number. This season as been particularly bad with exception of Hall.

Could be some light at the end of the tunnel with the spare cash and some deadwood moved on regarding signings ,personally hope he stops ,I’d like us to build a team around him ,but I’m sure we could make use of the extra money if he decides to move on . But I believe it’s every players ambition to win medals/cups ,and unfortunately we are well off the pace being a team fighting for regular honours at present and presumably for a while yet , so I’d imagine Tom is no different and think this season will be his swan song ,but hopefully leaving us in a safe position to move onwards and upwards in our new stadium

One thing about Tom, I suspect that if he is here until the end of the season he will be the type of player that gives his all right up to the final hooter of the final game, unlike some, sadly

I can only base my opinion by looking at the quality of the recent signings which at best have been done to fill a shirt or do you consider them to be shrewd and have improved things on the field. The problem we face of course is that the more we struggle year after year because of our less than impressive signings then it is unlikely that the type of player we need would want to join us.
I wonder what you base your assumptions that next season will be different or are you just passing on what you have been told to.

I said in my post yesterday, Tom is in the 21 man squad,but if not included in the matchday team, he is on his way already.
Probably be announced within 24 hours who he as signed for. Catalan by the look of things.
Means we will get a fee for him, probably not much, but better than none at all.

Or he's just injured.

We shall see, i hope it is an injury and he does continue playing for us.

It would be a stupid move even for us because survival is currently more important than any money received releasing him early. This is why I think probably the end of season, the only caveat I would add is Vastman who suggests otherwise and based on his earlier views on allowing him to leave suggests someone has asked him to put out an early defence. It would appear TJ is now unsettled and it would be good business for the club neither of which ring true.

Tbh .. with the rumour that cas are looking at Lino/Miller these are the players we need to concentrate on keeping ! Tom has been fab but we can cover him … ( Murphy looks the real deal) .

It is my assumption based on his previous statements that he receives information from somewhere other than a chip shop. I like your defence of Vastman but if I am wrong he could just say so and explain why he believes it would be good business and that TJ is now unsettled.

I am one of Toms fans, But, he is of no use to us as he is injured for more games than he plays !
Granted about his talent & ability but that alone is not a winning formula,
He must now have missed more games than he has played !
Other teams win regular with out Tom !
I have enjoyed Tom when he plays to his full ability but that's not what we get now, he is not, repeat not a fault as to why we cannot win
But the salary could be spent better !

Maybe defending the club is his raison d'etre, as yours is quite clearly the negativity towards the club, most of it's players, and most of the fans who quite clearly are not on the same page as you, and unlike you and one or two more aren't quite ready to write everything off just yet.

Do you really trust the present owners to spend Tom's salary wisely.
