I think it's been pretty clear what everyones thoughts about the tool/s who let the smoke bomb off, no ones condoning it at all, not the ones you've replied to anyway. But at the same time each club has to do everything they can to stop incidents happening before they happen, that's why Wakefield have had to go to the lengths they have, after incidents that took place especially between our two teams where there has been a bit of a history of late. That seems to be the only point which you seem to disagree but plenty of Cas fans blamed the Wakey Club and the stewerds when it kicked off a few seasons ago.

Tbh though not sure what the back and forth is about because you have said a few posts above that you don't think we should be fined but then go on to say we have to take some responsibility, which I think you'll agree we have or at least are doing our best to find the people and take make an example, much like we did with the bannings of a few trouble causes a few years ago.

You've answered your own question squire, the inadequate amount of stewards failed to stop them. If the stewards' had been doing their job properly we could have spoken more on our magnificent achievement last Sunday and not two mindless idiots', and fwiw I've already spoke of my contempt for them but don't let that stop you from trying to put words in my mouth to suit your flimsy argument.

I'd be interested in what Mick Carter's take on this is. Blame Cas Tigers for lack of stewarding and not searching speccies correctly, or WTW supporters for bringing the smoke bombs into the stadium. Is this more a case of cas fans desperate to get Wakefield in trouble, they haven't wrote so many e mails since they were opposing our stadium. How many of them have emailed the names of the 2 cowards punching wakefield fans leaving the ground which is worse behaviour in my book, I haven't seen anything from cas condoning that incident.

I don't think the majority of Cas fans are trying to get Wakey fans in trouble. The usual suspect is at it but he's basically a troll masquerading as a decent fan and needs ignoring. The overall blame for the smoke bombs is with the party that brought them in IMO, which is why MC was so (rightfully) annoyed.

Its no good complaining about rigorous stewarding re. searching bags, not allowing opened drinks etc then complain about idiots who bring in items deemed dangerous or socially unacceptable.
So will we have further complaints against Trinity's more strict stewarding policy that has led to friction between some fans and the club?

It's ridiculous to even contemplate WTW receiving any sort of sanction for this incident; the club can have no control over the conduct and behaviour of fans in any location other than inside its own stadium - they are a RL club, not the state police.

What the club should be judged on is their actions in trying to identify and deal with the idiots involved - and they seem to be doing a good job in that regard, although I'm less enthusiastic about MC storming the terraces himself.

Whether Cas are spoken to about their admission policy and stewarding is a matter for the RFL - I wasn't searched on the way in and I was free to wander wherever I wanted, with a flask full of polonium tea in my rucksack, together with a nice bun.

You're usually a pretty good poster but this one is complete crap, there can't be many fans of clubs or a clubs owner who are kicking up such a fuss over just a couple of their own speccis, practically everyone has berated these people for their actions. I tend to agree, however the precedent is set. Widnes were fined for the behaviour of their supporters at the cup semi-final not held at their ground.
I'd be happy for the club to deal with the matter internally - surely there must be a number of people able to give the names of the culprits to the club? I also thought Carter's reaction was positive, his action gave a clear message that the behaviour was unacceptable. I wish those near the 'bombers' had identified them on the spot and Carter had dragged them out personally.

If the precedent is set then so be it, we'll have to accept our punishment and move on, but let's not forget the Cas fans that taunted then attacked the Wakey speccis (as described by eye witness's') they're Castlefords responsibility.

Did cas get fined for that match? remember video footage of a cas fan running on the pitch punching widnes fans, what happened to him?

Just makes me wonder what type of fans there is out, you only have to see the vile reaction of the cas lady to Washbrook when he scored, why are fans so passionate that they have to react like that

No, Castleford supporters and players/staff were roundly praised for restraint despite such provocation!
The incident was looked into, but it was found that the Castleford supporter who ended up on the pitch did so after a steward fell on an advertising hoarding, causing it to collapse and the supporter only took evasive action to avoid being crushed as the steward fell into the front row of the crowd.
The supporter then acted completely in self defence when significantly outnumbered by Widnes "supporters" who had marched the full length of the field to incite violence, and returned to the stands as soon as he was able (with some help from a Castleford player).

I've clearly said I don't think Wakefield as a club should be fined, but I do think the individuals needs to have their names given to the club and action taken against them.

I agree it's very disturbing. I was as gutted as anybody to see him waltz through our "defence", but I reserve my abuse for my own team (and James Child).
